House Rules
I developed these house rules during my past six years of hosting on the occasion that things happened…thus another house rule….
1- I think the most important house rule is never ring the neighbor's door bell. It's very important that airbnb maintain a good/respectful relationship with our neighbors.
2- Please no loud noise in the hallway…my neighbors are noise sensitive.
3- There is no smoking or drinking in our home-thanks for understanding.
4- Please wash dishes after use with sponge and detergent… these dishes are used by people from all over the world so rinsing with water is not sufficient to kill germs and bacteria.
5- If by any chance something is broken or not working please notify me immediately.
6- Guests please take your shoes off in the hall area as you enter the apartment.
7- Please never place paper towels or sanitary napkins in the toilet…it will definitely clog the toilet and cost your host $150.00 for a plumber. Toilet paper is ok to put in the toilet. TOILET PAPER IS OK
8- Always lock the door when entering and leaving = (Pull door tight to lock)
10- Guests may use the closet space to hang clothes or place their clothing in the drawer for extra space.
11- Never let strangers into the building or into my apartment. Yes, this happened once-
12- Please do not bring personal guests such as friends and family that are not booked through Airbnb into the apartment.
13- Check out time is 10:am to prepare for incoming guests.
14- Guests leaving late may leave their luggage here during the day and pick it up later when this is convenient to the host.
15- Please be mindful that the breakfast menu is only for breakfast.
16- Last but not least…please be aware that other guests may use the shower and sink after you. Remove any hair left after your shower or use of the sink…thanks so much.
17- The pillows in the living are for display only. Please dont sit or lay on them. Hopfully sometime in the future they will be sold. Thanks for understanding.
18- Please do not remove the carpet from the floor, the curtains from the windows or the protective covering from the pillows. The decorative flowers/pictures in the room should remain where they are. Do not use the white porcelain tea pots located in the top kitchen shelf. This house rule is because of my last guest David.

Directions.......
1- The taxi is the easiest and most expensive mode of transportation located outside of every terminal....usually costing as much as $50.00 plus tolls to get to this apartment. Just a note: recently two of my guest were ripped off because they did not take a yellow metered cap into the city. It cost them $260.00....(outrageous) Please take a yellow, metered taxi to be safe and not get ripped off. The Medallion and ID number is posted up front in the cab in case of questions... if you have any problems write down their name and number to report them to the taxi and limousine commission.

2- The super shuttle (blue bus) is the second cheapest mode of transportation (reservation must be made) Go Airlink NYC: Share ride Shuttle or Sedan and SUV ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN))

By Private Shuttle...The Super Shuttle (blue bus $25.00) is cheaper than a taxi and will drop you off at your chosen destination- caveat: you share the service with others, so yours might not be the driver's first stop.... ..Remember it is courteous to tip the driver.

-From JFK....The JFK AirTrain transports passengers from the airport to a connecting train which then takes travelers into Manhattan. The AirTrain has two stops. The Howard Beach station has a connection to the A train. If taking the A train, be sure to only take the A train marked "Far Rockaway" NOT "Lefferts Boulevard". (the A and E train are good for my guests going toward lower Manhattan and getting off at 14th St.) Once at 14th St gett off and take the L train to 1st Ave.

The LIRR takes riders to Penn Station from Jamaica in just under 40 minutes. (Also good for my guests) Travelers can get from the airport to Manhattan for as low as $7.25 Once at Penn Station take the 4,5,or 6 train to 14th St and get off. You may then take the L train to 1st Ave and walk to the apartment or...go to the street and take the M14D Bus East to East 12th St...get off and walk to 626 East 9th St Apt 2F Between Ave B and Ave C.

From LaGuardia....Travelers can hop on the M60 Bus which has transfers available along its route to the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, A, C, D, Q, and N trains, all of which transports travelers to their desired location around town. (the 2,3,4,5,6,A and C are good for my guests going to lower Manhattan towards 14th St)

My guests should always look for 14th St in lower Manhattan...once you reach 14th St get off and take the M14D Bus East to East 12th St ...get off and walk to 626 East 9th St Apt 2F Between Ave B and Ave C...Or transfer to the L train at 14th St and get off at 1st Ave and walk to 9th St.

From Newark...The 62 Bus ($1.25) stops at each terminal and takes travelers to the NJ Transit ($3.75) which then connects travelers to New York City trains at Penn Station....the Air Train offers connecting service to NJ Transit as well as Amtrak trains which both bring travelers into Manhattan. My guests should look for 14th Street in Lower Manhattan. Once you reach 14th St transfer to the L train and get off at 1st Ave and walk to 9th St ...Or get off at 14th St and take the M14D Bus East to East 12th St...get off and walk to 626 E 9th St Apt 2F Between Ave B and Ave C

Great location in a hip area in East Village. Large room with large fridge. Very nice host. A bit inconvenient that the only toilet was situated in a shared bathroom with three other people. Otherwise very pleasant stay.

Thank you for your review Barbara. Perhaps you failed to read the host profile and description. If you had you would know that I live with my family and have a second guests room.

This is a bigger than normal room for the area which is nice. God location in the heart of East Village. 2nd floor walk up so its not bad for nonstairs people. Hostess is very good with communication, makes pancakes for you, has helpful tourist info in your room and knows the area well. Close to train adn all the great East Village eats. The biggest perk is the 10am check in which is earlier than most. I would recommend

So sorry I made you feel uncomfortable during breakfast. I offered the bagel because you said you couldn't eat pancakes due to your condition. Luke if you wanted to go explore the (URL HIDDEN) all means take off. No need to sit through breakfast. As far as the protective covering on the pillows...they have to stay. Guests don't want to smell a former guests when they fall asleep at night. The bed is recently purchased with no springs.

Location is amazing! surrounding by a bunch of cool eateries. It's a very safe area. The room is very clean and comfy, spacious. We have like 6 luggages and still feel roomies in the room. It has AC and tv which is awesome. Another good part is it's on the 2nd fl. so you don't have to deal with taking all your belonging up the stairs too much (you know how building in NY are) Carol is very welcoming and friendly. She even makes breakfast for everybody some morning. Bathroom is spacious and clean. I would totally recommend this place to everybody.

Spacious room in New York, that's rare! Very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed leaving in this neighborhood during a week. There were other guests during my stay and it was great. Carol was easy to communicate with and I enjoyed speaking with her. A lot of restaurants and bars near, subway at about 10mn walk, very convenient.
