Host is nice and apartment *looks* nice at first, but that changes the longer you stay. First, if you're from out of town, this is in the ghetto, homeless all over, man in a bikini wandering around, strip club across the street- called "Candy Store" maybe your thing...but I brought my kids to stay in this apartment and it wasn't fun telling them NO we can't go to the Candy Store every time we drove by.
Also, COCKROACHES EVERYWHERE. They scurry when you turn on kitchen light. Had one in my coffee cup sitting on the counter. In the sink and probably the most gross was when I opened the "clean" dishwasher to put away the dishes and one was running around at the bottom INSIDE the dishwasher! Also, dishwasher, it bubbles up through the sink while running and clogs the drain, sending dead bugs up and no, the garbage disposal does not work.
Carpet has stains everywhere...not a super big deal, but makes you wonder if/when it's been cleaned.
Shower curtain had hair all over and it got on me...not my hair-gross. Also, don't bother with a bath, the drain doesn't close.
Neighbor plays loud music and chain smokes in the hallway and leaves cigarette butts EVERYWHERE. Also, cops were there dealing with someone down the hall during our stay.
Normally, I wouldn't complain about all of this and understand that the host may not have ever actually lived here, but to advertise the place as a "LUXURY" apartment is misleading and false. The complex is ghetto and gross with trashy tenants. Also, there's no missing the roaches all over. Maybe they spray, but it didn't work. I had to stay here between selling my house and waiting for the next to be ready and tied up a bunch of money, unfortunately... because I wanted to leave so badly every day. Luckily I was able to get my family into our new home a day early and was able to have one less cringe day in my life. Also, I have pictures for documentation, just to be clear that all of this is true and I'll be happy to share with Airbnb reps...just ask.
