The Wild Cherry is a lovely stone, early 19th Century lead miner’s cottage in the middle of old Wirksworth, on the quiet, steep, picturesque lane Greenhill with panoramic views across the valley.
The house is light & spacious, simply & traditionally furnished with 3 double rooms & a single room. Extra beds can be put into 2 of the rooms to make twins so there is lots of flexibility. 2 traditional bathrooms - normally shared.
Breakfast, with lots of organic produce, is included in your stay & is in the large farmhouse kitchen, with lovely views.
You are welcome to sit out in the pretty, enclosed courtyard garden, which is also ideal for dogs.
We are very dog friendly. Dogs stay free & free dog sitting, whilst you go out, may be available on request.
Families are welcome & there are reduced rates for babies & children under 12 years.
NB: The Wild Cherry is not self catering so the kitchen is not available at other times for guests but there are great restaurants, pubs & cafes a few minutes walk away.
Wirksworth is a fascinating old town with old buildings, cobbled alleys, small independent shops, fringe cinema, restaurants, cafes, pubs. There is a wealth of amazing places to visit & things to do in the area to suit all kinds of interests. We are close to Chatsworth, Matlock Bath, Bakewell, Carsington Water, Peak District National Park with it’s beautiful varied scenery, walks, history & wildlife.
Your own independent access, so you can come & go as you like, will be shown to you when you arrive.

I'm around most of the time & am delighted to help with any questions or requests, if I can. Just ask!
I love welcoming & talking with people from all walks of life & nationalities. Being outdoors, gardening, walking, travelling & playing with dogs are great favourites too.
