This was the biggest hassle I have ever had through with Air BnB
1) We got there an hour after check in, he was not in town to clean and the place was disgusting. There were pubic hairs around the bathroom, the sheets on the bed were from the previous guest, and over all you could tell it had not been clean. This is a business, he should of paid someone to come in and clean or something - yes, he offered to come later in the day but he should had found a way to make it work before we got there.
2) I understand the cancellation policies, 24 hour in advance, but we were not there for even 20 minutes before we had left and in that 20 minutes we were booking a new Air BnB. He told me we needed to take some responsibility, but the things he didn't tell us was that the place was under construction, was above what seemed to be a homeless shelter, and in general in an extremely unsafe location. I get it, not something you exactly advertise, but the pictures he took are very deceptive in the way that the trees in the photos cover up what the outside really looks like.
3) As soon as we old him we were unhappy and wanted our money back his attitude changed. He became very short with us. And didn't seem as sorry. I understand he basically lost a day to rent out the Air BnB but we lost a day and money in having to find a new place, having to re-plain and rebook everything, and having to pay for a new ride to a new location. Overall, don't waste your money.
