Enjoy a tranquil spot near all the local action. Set up camp next to a spring fed creek near the neighborhood vineyard, green space, and a wooded slope. Wade in Tiger Creek and look for tadpoles, minnows and salamanders. Watch from your hammock as the neighborhood hawks soar overhead. If you're still enough, you might get a visit from the neighborhood deer and groundhogs.
"Camp Nowhere" hides in a small gully in the center of a west-Athens neighborhood. The site was once the deepest part of an old, spring-fed fishing pond. Enjoy ample room for a 2, 3, or 4 person sleeper tent and up to four hammocks with slap straps. Bring your own tents and hammocks. Pine tree stools separate the creek bed from the fire pit. There are no restroom facilities at the moment, as this space is new, but we hope to build a private, composting toilet and solar shower for camper's use in the future.
Guests have 24 hour access to one lit parking space at the end of a dead end street. There is no through-traffic.

Rookie dad. Always pining for adventure. I like loud, fast, dangerous stuff, but also lazy days, naps, reading, and quiet. I always travel with earplugs. I love exploring the South and learning local lore. I am happy to host others who are also inclined to sleeping with the cicadas singing all around.
