Sweet guest cottage with a tropical feel, tucked behind the trees on our old Holy Cross rancho. Leafy green grounds and shady screened porch. Cute, functional kitchen with vintage stove and sunny space to lounge or work downstairs. Open sleeping loft and bath upstairs.
Holy Cross is a quiet, laid-back, historic neighborhood. Our place is a mile to Bywater and three to the French Quarter. It's three blocks from the Mississippi River and the best sunset views in the city.
Renovated bargeboard cottage behind the main house on our green, private, 3/4 acre property. A rustic, inviting space full of windows and light. Sleeping loft with Queen-sized bed, dresser, and petite bathroom. Kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, and toaster oven. Delightful screened porch. Ideal for writers, artists, and others wanting a tranquil retreat to work, read, or relax. We renovated the cottage with the help of friends and family from far and wide - it's a quirky, cozy labor of love.
You'll have the fully separate cottage and screened porch to yourself, along with the patio in front. We're often working or hanging out in the yard; you're welcome to share this space as well.

INQUIRIES/REQUESTS: Please include some information about yourself, your traveling partner, and your plans while visiting New Orleans. It really helps if you've completed your profile, have good reviews, and share your LinkedIn page or other information. Reservations must include both guests, so please make sure your traveling companion has a verified AirBnB account as well.
PLEASE READ about our neighborhood and location before sending a request. It's perfect for some but it's not for everyone.
NOISE: This is one of the quietest parts of the city, and our place is distinctly oasis-like. However, the cottage is an old, window-filled, bargeboard structure and not soundproof. You can expect to hear boat horns off the river, trains passing through Bywater, and other neighborhood sounds: home renovation, music practice, dogs, cats, birds, kids, parties and parades...
ACCESSIBILITY: The stairs to the sleeping loft are on the tight side, and could be challenging for the less-than-spry.
DOGS: Our three dogs are friendly, but one barks at newcomers and one tries to play with everyone. They're occasionally in the yard when we're at home. We'll mostly keep them out of your hair, but it's best if guests are canine-comfortable.
LAUNDRY: Our washer and dryer are in our workshed, and you can arrange with us to use them when we're home.
