If you’re looking for a quite, relaxing neighborhood close to downtown, local restaurants, bars and food carts or for something with easy access to the Moda Center, Expo Center, Univ. of Portland or Columbia Univ., the NoPo Studio’s your spot. Tucked in the lower level of our 1940’s home, is a new studio with all you need – queen bed, full futon, kitchen/dining area, separate entrance, work station, TV, Wi-Fi, fireplace, shared laundry and even available indoor bike storage in our garage.
As you open the door to the No Po Studio the quartz stone fireplace and three large egress windows capture your eye and fill the room with a pleasing warmth. Hang your jacket in the coat closet, take off your shoes, enjoy the cozy slippers and relax. You are at your home away from home. The NoPo Studio will accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children (under 13). Compressed recycled wood fire logs will be provided for every guest (see House Rules) and the windows have shades for all the privacy you desire.

The NoPo Studio has basic cable TV and a secured WiFi for your use. Channel availability and password will be in the Guest book with the House Rules.
You’re encouraged to use our sometimes sunny (hey, this is Portland, after all) backyard, covered patio and lawn furniture to extend your outdoor time. We hope you’ll appreciate the changes we are taking our yard through converting it to a chemical-free, backyard habitat reflective of the long-lost Willamette River Valley oak savanna. As we ask you leave the yard as you found it (see House Rules).
As a NoPo Studio guest you may use our laundry room with its high efficiency washer & dryer, vanity and drying rack. An iron and ironing board is also available. Just let us know and we'll give you the quick rundown on their use (see House Rules).
If you arrive by or bring your bicycle for enjoying one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the US, indoor bicycle storage is available in our garage. Just let us know (see House Rules).
On-street parking typically available in front of the house, which is an increasingly rare thing in many areas of Portland.

Общение с гостями
We are hosts because we enjoy meeting and getting to know people. We also respect your time, and privacy and know you came to Portland for reasons other than chatting with your hosts no matter how charming they may be. While one of us is generally at home and available when needed, we do have our lives and are responsive to phone or text.
You may hear us upstairs as we do live directly above the NoPo Studio and live fairly normal lives. While we did our best to provide quality acoustic separation in the NoPo Studio's walls, ceiling and doors, it is not sound proof. You may hear some noise as we go about our day. When we have guests, we do our best to be reasonably quiet, particularly during the same quiet times (8 PM-10 AM) as we ask our guests. We will normally keep our living area's doors to the side entry locked if closed. Feel free to knock if you need anything. You will likely see or possibly hear us using the side door and stairway, working in the yard or on the house, talking to neighborhoods, and such.

We would appreciate guests removing their shoes inside the Studio and using the slippers, their sock or get wild and go barefoot. Besides being good for your feet to breath a little, it will keep the Studio cleaner and reduce wear on the floor finish.
We are energy conscious and sustainably aware. We are avid recyclers and composter and encourage you to take advantage of the convenient recycling and kitchen composting bins in the NoPo Studio kitchen. All of our electricity is provided by alternative energy sources through PGE’s Energy Partners program.
We are a smoke-free property out of respect for our neighbors and our future guests. We get the cannabis thing and it may be, in part why you’ve come to Portland, which is why we recommend edibles from one of the many cannabis shops. Several are within walking distance and others are nearby in North Portland.
We are accepting of all races, genders, ethnicities, and nationalities. We respect all and ask all to respect us, our home and our neighbors.

After visiting Portland for 7 years seeing family and enjoying its bicycling and proximity to mountains, rivers and the Pacific, Dale and Laura made the move from the Kansas City area in 2014 and are now homeshare hosts for the NoPoStudio. We enjoy bicycling, hiking, cross country skiing and visiting new places. Several of our favorite US destinations are Durango, CO, in the San Juan Mountains; Minneapolis, MN, for the cross country skiing; New Mexico for the food and culture; and any place we have not been to. One of our favorite foreign destination is Granada, Spain; but there's a lot of the world yet to see.
While the only things we can really not live without are air, food and water, (we have minimal demands on life), we prefer our water to taste like wine or craft beer; the air to smell like spring rain and the food flavored with hot green chilies or smoked BBQ (a blending of our New Mexico and Kansas City experiences).
