Live like a local! Recently renovated rowhouse steps to diverse, exciting Mt. Pleasant St., walking distance to the Zoo and to the food and nightlife of Adams-Morgan and Columbia Heights. Large and light, with first-class furnishings and linens. Off-street parking, two blocks from the subway (3 stops to the Convention Center). A chef's kitchen, two dining spaces and a two-story master suite. Three bedrooms and an inflatable queen bed -- we can sleep a lot of folks and not feel crowded.
My home is meant to be enjoyed. A recently-renovated 2000+ sf rowhouse in the convenient and historic Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, it features high ceilings and classic craftsmanship, as well as eclectic art and furnishings.
There are two main bedrooms with queen-sized beds, and a TV room with a futon (that's the "sofa bed" -- there are no option for listing futons in the listing format) that can be folded out for sleeping, if needed. And there is is also a very comfortable (and big) air bed for larger groups.
And, when the weather's right, the front porch is a perfect place for relaxing with a beverage or over a meal.
In fact, if you plan on enjoying a home-cooked meal (or several) while you're in Washington, this is place you want.
You'll have the whole house.

I am generally nearby during your stay and available at any time, should the need arise, but I will be travelling for some of August -- there's a lockbox and a key. I can be flexible around check-in and check-out, as long as other guests are not affected. As a long-time Washingtonian and avid amateur chef, I am great resource for planning your visit, including off-beat tourist attractions, "insider" advice for beating the crowds and all kinds of cooking and dining information. I can even cook for you. Let me help you live like a local!

I am new to this and eager to please -- my motto is "whatever it takes."
- Please be mindful of the neighbors. Wash all pots and pans and load dishwashers. If you wish to have guests beyond those staying, please clear with me in advance -- it's a great place for dinner guests or early mingling, but not for late night nights.

My friend, Laura, and I enjoy good food, art and history, and wandering aimlessly around older parts of major cities. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen -- and will often hit a city's markets before I get to their museums -- and on the water, as a relatively dedicated member of a DC rowing team. I like to take wherever I am -- your home, your city, the crosstown bus I got on by accident -- on its own terms, discovering and enjoying what's unique, delightful and challenging about it. And what I learn about a place from the people I talk to is almost always more memorable and resonant than what I learn just by looking. In the words of Chairman Mao (kind of) "the traveler is the fish that swims in the sea of life."
