Vincent's review gives no positive feedback. I am very sorry about the used sheet on the bed, (it only has one sheet and a down duvet, of which the cover had been washed) and I had a word with my cleaner about this inexcusable situation. Vincent could have asked us for a clean one, which was available in the cupboard next to the bed. His account of what happened also leaves out the fact that he agreed by contract to our check-in time of 7 - 9 pm. He also leaves out the fact that he texted me at 15:31 on the day of their arrival to inform me that they would arrive between 20:00 - 22:00, to which I replied immediately at 15h45 that he could check in between 17:00 and 19:00. He then called at 19:39 from another town saying that they would be having supper there till between 22:30 - 23:00, not ASKING, just informing me, to which I answered him after a conversation with my check-in person that we would easily accommodate his check-in until 21:00 . This message I sent him at 20:28, giving him the half hour necessary to get to our place on time. This text contained the contact number of the check-in person, who then waited in vain to hear from Vincent. Vincent does not acknowlege these messages and he started to use a different phone number after I sent them. Vincent's partner then phoned me at 21:30 expecting me to find a way to let them into our home after 22h or 23h. By then it was too late, they had chosen to have dinner before checking in and found themselves in a difficult situation. Our room cost half the price of the hotel he found where he could check in at his leisure. I offered that they could stay an additional night to cover the missed night, but Vincent declined and complained about the bedding. I immediately refunded him for the night he did not spend in our home. This was the most unpleasant hosting situation I have experienced.
