Our home is close to The World Heritage Listed Springbrook National Park - so close that our property borders it on 2 sides.
We think you'll love it here because you can stroll 2 minutes down the road and be on the Purling Brook walking track, the adventurous can hike the 17K Warrie Circuit, or take an easy scenic drive off mountain to all of the Gold Coast beaches & attractions.
But best of all you can stay on the mountain, unwind, relax & enjoy the serenity and beauty that is Springbrook.
*** Please note: At present the only access road into Springbrook is Pine Creek Road (which runs off the Nerang-Murwillumbah Road).
There is NO access via Mudgeeraba for at least all of 2017.
All parks, look-outs and walks are open, (with the exception of the eastern section of Purling Brook circuit, from the John Stacey suspension bridge up to the eastern lookout and the causeway at the top of the falls), The western section down to the bottom of the falls or onto the Warringa Pool track can be walked, as is the section up to Apple Tree Park.
We built our 'modern take on a cabin' a few years ago as an extension to our home, a place to watch TV without disturbing each other and for family and friends to stay over. In 2017 we decided to share it on Airbnb so that others can enjoy beautiful Springbrook. Standing proudly on its giant steel legs and perched on the escarpment there are filtered views through the tree tops across the World Heritage Listed Springbrook National Park out to Surfers Paradise & Broadbeach. Enjoy relaxing on the cabin's private deck where cool breezes keep it comfortable in summer and sheltered in winter.
(Once your booking is confirmed we will email you with more details about the cabin, evening meal options if required and the facilities & activities in the area to help you plan & enjoy your stay).
The cabin is fully self contained, it has a separate bedroom with QS Bed, an ensuite, a 'Kitchenette' with light cooking facilities, bar-fridge and pantry (with a breakfast starter kit of milk, eggs, sugar, a variety of teas & coffee, bread, butter, jam) and lounge room with an entertainment system (Foxtel, TV, DVD player), reclining chairs ensure you can enjoy comfortable night in.
The cabins private deck has two comfy rocking chairs to idle the time away, cushions, throw rugs, magazines and a BBQ/temperature controlled Oven.
Privacy window blinds throughout the cabin can be pulled down for your comfort. We supply all towels, sheets, bedding etc for your use during your stay.
The Cabin is joined by a short deck and 5 stairs to our main deck which our guests are more than welcome to enjoy, relax and take in the view (as in photo provided) as well as full use of the (larger) main deck with it's Balinese style Hut and outdoor table/8 chairs under it - at any time. The main deck is also perfect for viewing the lights of the Gold Coast after dark. (Please feel free to message me with any queries you may have re cooking facilities etc).
Our garden is as nature provides, free to wander and enjoy, it is not landscaped purposely as we like it to blend into the forest below and encourage the birds & wildlife. It is a very steep property and we prefer guests to only use the decked area and the front of the property.
Photography is welcomed.
Smoking is not allowed on our property, we ask all our visitors including our family and friends to respect this.
We do have a dog (who's super friendly), he is locked in his purpose built playpen every evening on dusk, and if guests are comfortable with him he usually has free run of the main deck during the day. We are happy to put him in his playpen if you would prefer.
Guests have private access and total uninterrupted use of the cabin and it's private deck during their stay.
We share our main deck with the birds and wildlife that visit (some seasonally, the possums nightly), guests are welcome to enjoy this area too.
Общение с гостями
Despite the relative proximity of the cabin to the main residence where we live, (separated by a large expanse of deck and the Bali style Hut), we like to make sure you have total privacy. Having said that, we are friendly people, (especially the dog), and are more than happy to chat with you as little or as much as you like. We prefer to leave that up to you, after all your trip to Springbrook should be all about you, and we like to think you can be comfortable to do as much as, or as little as you like.
There is an undercover car parking spot allocated for your use.
We will meet and greet you and familiarise you with the cabin, the TV controls, the local amenities/walks etc and of course are available during your stay to answer any questions at any time.
We also have a number of reference books about the area, flora and fauna if you are interested as well as a collection of various DVD's should you wish to borrow some.
Другие важные подробности
If there is no-one using the cabin the day before your check in date, (or after your check out date), we are happy for you to enjoy an earlier check-in or later check out. Just let us know what suits you.
All of Springbrook relies on tank water, so we do ask guests to be mindful of water usage. Water is fine to consume, though if you're not used to it we recommend you boil it, we also provide a bottle of water in the fridge, you may want to bring more.
Due to the capacity of the septic system, sanitary items must NOT be flushed down the toilet (a bin & bags are provided in the en-suite). Sanitary items etc will cause blockages in the system, should that occur during or after your stay you may be charged the $150.00 callout fee for a professional to remove the blockage.
This is our home and we love it, but we also know breakages and spillages etc can happen, if they do we ask that you please let us know.
Rule no. 1
Relax, Unwind and Enjoy !!
Sorry, due to the property being on the escarpment and next to national park we do not allow smoking or pets. It is also unsafe for children.
This is a quiet environment in a no through road, our neighbours, the environment and wildlife need to be treated with respect please.
Loud, boisterous behaviour is not welcome, this is a place for relaxation and enjoying nature.
Yes, we charge a $25 cleaning fee per trip, this covers all of the laundry and ironing etc of all towels, sheets, doona covers etc, general house cleaning, final polish and re-stock of fridge & pantry etc to ensure the cabin is as clean as can be on your arrival - but we do appreciate guests leaving the cabin clean and tidy when they leave as it is an extension of our home, we hope everyone can feel as comfortable there as we do.
We totally understand accidents happen, just let us know, most can be easily fixed. Thank you so much <3
My partner of 25 years and I have lived on Springbrook Mountain QLD for 11 years.
Life is good, we enjoy the serenity of Springbrook and also rare moments away from work enjoying travelling, good wine and food together.
We also share our home with our 18 year old Birman (100% indoor cat) and 4 year old Coop, an Alaskan Malamute X (who's my personal trainer).
My passion is caring for the environment and especially our local wildlife and the world heritage national park that borders our property on two sides. I am also a member of Wildcare Australia and both rescue & transport wildlife as needed.
I take photographs of the amazing bird's and other wildlife and the ever changing scenery up here on the mountain.
In 2017 we are opening up our stand alone & self contained modern twist on a cottage for others to enjoy, I'm looking forward to showing others what a beautiful place Springbrook Mountain is tucked away in the hinterland of the Gold Coast.
