DESIGN NOTES: Epitomising sustainable multigenerational generational living this listing was part of a 6 bedroom 6 bathroom house with 2 lofts that was architect designed in two halves on a 503 sq m block with north facing rear. The Subiaco Museum advised us that 440 Barker Road was originally a Bakery in the 1930's. Our new front yard purposely has unlocked gates and low fencing to encourage friendly neighbourhood interaction.
This property presents a two storey classical frontage anchored by a central parapet. Each half of the home was originally designed to create separate ground floor garden apartments for baby boomer parents (Lori & Bob) on the East and for Nanna on the West side of the block. When required, adult children can stay (renting at low cost) in one or both of the self contained apartments above on each side of the combined house with private access via a second entry door and staircase.
ElleJay design was consulted for interior decor and garden integration. She specialises in apartment downsizing decor and styling plus office fitout design for the adventurous small business owners wishing to make a statement. Local artisan products were sourced and used where possible.
Perth is a laid back city with fabulous weather most of the year. Please enjoy exploring when you visit Subiaco. Local people in the street are friendly and happy to help.

Inner city living in Australia means being considerate of our neighbours and we ask guests to keep noise to a minimum. Children can be noisy and the apartment is split level with stairs. We do have a baby cot and high chair.
