You'll love my place; it is close to Volcano's National Park and conveniently located 12 miles from town; far enough to enjoy the cool and secluded features of our rain-forest; and central for exploring the hot springs of Kalapana, Waiopae (marine sanctuary) and the black sand beaches of Punalu'u. You will have your own private entry, living area, bath and patio.

My name is Kaipo. I am a native Hawaiian who loves my culture and Island lifestyle. I've lived abroad and traveled the world, sharing and learning from other cultures, much of which have similar aspirations in transforming our current global condition.
My interests are adventure and natural wonders; I dive, surf, ski and almost anything to do with water (fresh, salt or frozen). My other joy is self determination; hunter-gatherer as a way of life; academia as way of life-long learning; and hosting visitors to share in a common goal - sustainability and anthro-eco synergy.
Currently, I am a PhD candidate with a focus on conservation agriculture. As a trained biogeochemist (yes, its just a fancy word for soil ecologist) my work is grounded in the Island culture where at a time in history, my ancestors enhanced ecosystem services (living within an system) to provide for a large growing population with minimal impact on nature; they did not have the luxury of trade or nomadism (living off the system).
If your idea of a Hawaiian vacation is the poolside sunset and cocktail moment, I am not your guy; if you are looking for the magic of Aloha - what it is and how it manifest or seeking the unique History of Hawaiians, then I am certainly your man.
Hope to meet you like-minded fellas someday.
