Discover a spacious hidden gem with sweeping views of the harbour and mountain in the heart of the characterful and historic suburb of Woodstock. Ideal for holidays with your family or a group of friends, or colleagues on a business trip to Cape Town. A range of beaches, the waterfront, Table Mountain and other highlights are between ten to twenty minutes away by car and/or bus, and great restaurants, coffee shops, markets and galleries are all within walking distance
The main living area includes the kitchen, dining and living area in an open plan set up, and includes a great fireplace for winter nights. This space has great views of the Woodstock roofscape and Cape Town harbour beyond and opens up onto a grape vine framed timber entertainment deck with an 8 seater table and a portable Weber barbecue for long, lazy meals with family and friends. The kitchen is well-equipped and has Jamie Oliver pots and pans. A guest toilet adjoins this area to ensure maximum privacy in the bedrooms. The entrance passageway has a utility cupboard with a washing machine for doing your laundry at no extra cost. The bedroom suites are accessed off this space, with a lovely staircase going up to main suite, and stairs descending to the two bedrooms on the lower floor. The large main bedroom on the top floor has a king size bed with views of both the harbour and the mountain, a generous dressing room area and and an en-suite bathroom. A timber deck leads off the bedroom space, with a hammock in place to enjoy the view. The second and third bedroom are on the lower floor and are inter-leading and connected rooms with an open door between them. The one bedroom has 2 single beds, and the other bedroom has a single bed and a daybed. This space opens out onto a small, shady courtyard space with planters filled with herbs and lavender. The two bedrooms share a bathroom, that comes off the room with the single bed and day bed. There is a built-in cupboard in the bedroom with the twin beds. There is a sleeper couch in the main living space on the entrance level and this can be made up should the need arise.
The house shares an entrance with another house that is also on airbnb, and that sleeps 2 people.

Parking: There is always parking in front of the house during day. From about 8pm onwards the parking fills up as people come home for the night, given that it's a residential area in an historic neighbourhood built before garages and cars, but there is always a spot somewhere on the street a short walk from the house, and it is well-lit and perfectly safe.

I am architect and urbanist with a passion for great design that is uplifting as well as socially and ecologically responsible. I love traveling, meeting new people and exploring new places, and delight in the unexpected. I also value my own space when I'm traveling and resonate with independent and adventurous guests. I've lived in Cape Town for over thirty years and have a wealth of experience to share.
