Well. This is our first non-5-star review and I write it with a heavy heart. The apartment itself is wonderful- light, airy, well appointed. The location is as shown on the listing but it is quite far from the main town. So here's the first of the problems, we booked this place knowing it was a bit far from the main town - but only after checking with Luké that the two bicycles he had mentioned WERE available for rent. I knew from doing my research that renting bikes from local vendors was going to be prohibitively expensive, so Luké's rate of 1000pesos per bike, per month, was perfect. Unfortunately, upon arrival, Luké told us the bikes were not actually available after all - which left us in a difficult situation. Then the second problem - the construction that Luké was doing RIGHT UNDERNEATH our bedroom. We totally understand why he needs to build his living quarters but I don't think it's reasonable at all for them to expect anyone to live with that loud noise starting at 8am and even 7:30am some days! We discussed this with Luke on Day 1 and came to a mutual agreement that he would not do construction while we were home. So thats was a big relief and we very much appreciated it. Unfortunately that arrangement unravelled due to a series of misunderstandings as to when we would be at home and and one day Luké announced that he must continue construction no matter what - from 8am to 6pm everyday except Sundays, and we were free to terminate the arrangement if we so wished. So that's exactly what we did. He refunded us the remainder of our accomodation costs but the whole experience left a bad feeling. As long as his construction is finished I would very much recommend this place to future travelers but alas, our experience was overall only 3/5.
