Welcome to our sweet RowHome!! We just moved to the District and are super excited to open our doors to you! Enjoy the restaurants of the thriving H Street Corridor a few blocks away, and connect to the rest of the city by bus, the Streetcar (which is free and connects to Union Station), bike share, or metro... although you may want to just hang out under the cafe lights on our back patio. We think it's pretty awesome.
Our home makes us happy. It's a two-story (plus, a duck-your-head storage basement) DC row house with a lot of light and even a tiny little private patio out back. The first thing I did when I was moving in this summer was hang cafe lights... super cozy. The second thing I did was set up our awesome memory foam king bed.
We like to cook, so the kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans and (really) good knives. And you are welcome to make yourself at home. The table pulls out to seat 6. Somehow we squeezed 10 for Thanksgiving : )
Our second bedroom has a day bed that becomes a king. That's right. Two king beds in a city row house. Yay IKEA. And the bathroom is newly renovated with cute retro tile.
We really are just a couple of blocks from one of the more happening parts of the District. Lots of restaurants and bars, and three grocery stores.
You'll have access to everywhere! I will ask that you limit going into the basement unless you're doing laundry. We use it as storage mostly, and unless you are my height you may hit your head.
This is where we live, which means our things are here. I'll leave notes about what of our pantry items you are welcome to.
Общение с гостями
If you're renting the whole house, that means we're out of town. We will be in touch, and have friends from church who live across the street, and others who live around the corner. So if you need help, someone will be around soon.
Другие важные подробности
We also just rent out our guestroom when we're around. Both postings will not be live at the same time.
And, to set appropriate expectations: this is a row house, which means we share walls with our neighbors. You may hear them. They may hear you.
We are happy to welcome accompanied children in our home. Please note there has been no "child-proofing" (cupboard locks, child gates, or others). You are welcome to bring your own Pack n' Play, high chair etc.
This is our home. You are our guests. Please be respectful.
I know that pot is legal in the District, but I'd much rather you didn't get high here.
If you use the fire bowl, POUR WATER ON THE COALS BEFORE LEAVING.
We have a security system. Make sure you are comfortable setting and turning it off. I'll create a code for you and walk you through everything.
