Little Golden Pond is a community where historically former residents of Golden Pond resettled when TVA purchased Land Between the Lakes. Golden Pond was an outlaw moonshine and whiskey making town during prohibition. Over 100 whiskey making operations laced the "land between the rivers" from the 1880's through prohibition. The town was vacated and destroyed in 1969 when Land Between the Lakes was created. Several other towns were flooded and remains still lie at the bottom of the lake.
