This 1 1/2 story, 140 year old caretakers cottage, in the heart of Burlington's historic Hill Section is conveniently located half way between our vibrant downtown and the 2 colleges at the top of the hill; Univ. of Vermont and Champlain College.
The house has a total of eight rooms. The first floor has four rooms and a lavatory: LR, DR, Kitchen and an enclosed porch with a couch, two folding chairs and a 32" TV. The TV has an Apple TV modem. The "TV room" is heated but can be chilly in winter. I supply a plug-in heater for supplemental heat. There is good high speed wi-fi.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs along with a small full bath. There is also 4th BR is accessible through the twin BR closet (small door with very low headroom) or via a steep back stairway. It is the slightly quirky way-back room (see photos) with a full bed and very sloped sidewalls but full head room in the center. It can be used as a 4th bedroom if you ask me before hand and I can get it ready.
PLEASE NOTE: Be aware that the tub and shower in the small bathroom is located under a sloped ceiling. A few guest have commented that it is awkward space if you are over 5'-4". I do provide a shower stool which can be used in conjunction with the hand held shower head as on option.
There may be garage parking for a small car in the summer months (if my car is gone) and there is one space in front of the garage. Street parking is also available but can be hard to find depending on the time of day, college break times and other factors.
Vermont is great for outdoor activities summer and winter. Winter activities include downhill skiing which is as near as 1/2 hour drive (Bolton Valley a great family ski area!) or an hour drive to Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River Glen ("ski it you can.") or Smuggler's Notch. There is also xcountry skiing on the groomed, flat trails of the "interval" along the Winooski River and at the country club, both right in Burlington if the snow gods bring us enough of the white stuff.
Summer and Fall there are opportunities for hiking, sailing, swimming, biking or just strolling the waterfront and downtown.

I am a retired landscape architect from the northern state of Vermont, USA.
I live in a 140 year old house that was once the caretakers house for a larger 1800's home nearby. I have raised 3 children in this house who are now living in the various corners of the USA. When visiting them I sometime use AirB&B to find a comfy place to stay nearby.
I spend my enjoying what Vermont and Burlington have to offer with friends, gardening and trying to keep my old house in repair.
In recent years I have been escaping the winter cold and heading to Mexico and other warmer climes happy to have Air B&B as an economical lodging alternative.
