Live like a local in an old Medical Center/Rice University area home. This area is considered by most as one of the safer areas of metropolitan Houston & located closely to so many things to do. This location is close to Restaurants, Convenience store, gym, spa, hair salon, Medical Center hospitals, Rice University, Rice Village shopping and nightlife, & much more all within a mile. You will not need a car to get around.
You will have your own private room in a 5 bedroom house. Though the house is constantly being updated, it is old & still needs much more to make it look perfect. Nonetheless, it is very comfortable & down to earth.
In your room you will have a comfortable bed, nightstands with lamps, storage space to put belongings, personal mini-fridge, toaster oven, TV, coffee maker. At no charge: Complementary instant coffee, tea, breakfast snacks, couple cold beverages in fridge, towel, shampoo, toilet paper (enough to get you started).
Just to be clear, this is not a hotel experience. This is a roommate experience. You will be provided with the basics in the beginning, and that is it. The room & the furniture inside of it is not upscale, but it is clean.
You have your own private room, and access to the shared bathrooms. There is a full bathroom upstairs, and a half bathroom downstairs, which both are shared by all. There is also a sitting area in the backyard. If you are staying at least 10 days, you may use the laundry room.

This is not the Ritz Carlton, or the Holiday Inn-Just a place to live like a local, to be a roommate of ours essentially. You will not have personal maid service cleaning after you. You are expected to clean after your own messes & everyone staying a whole week or longer helps a little with chores once a week. The "cleaning fee" covers the cost of turning over the room, welcome supplies, & relieves you of any cleaning duties if you are staying 6 days or less.
There is a small chance you could be in one of the other rooms in the pictures, they are all very similar.
If you plan on parking your car outside, please let me know before you book so that we can make parking arrangements.
Houston is a very wet, humid city. With that comes more insects than the average city so please do your research so you know what to expect when you come to this city. Here is a link to check out that compares our climate a little with different parts of the world:
I also recommend that you research the specifics on weather conditions to expect and what types of insects to expect if you are not used to tropical rain-forest type climates
- -Clean up after yourself if you use common areas of house. - Turn lights off when not in use. -If you need to bring your pet, you can, as long as you keep it in your room. -If you stay a week or longer, I ask that you help clean (once a week)

about me: I like to experience new positive things, like outdoor activities and traveling. So far, Ive traveled to India, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Canada, France, & numerous states in the US, but most of my traveling wasn't done recently so Id like to change that. I know what its like to travel many different ways (from sleeping in hammocks w practical strangers while chickens run around underneath & functioning w no running water to having it easy in places like the Ritz Carlton in Paris. I know how it feels to have to trust strangers in strange places,... so I use my experiences to try to make people in my home feel welcome and safe-like their home away from home.
