My apartment has been designed by an award winning interior designer. It is seconds from Waverley Train Station and Princes Street, within the New Town. It is in the most central city centre location in Edinburgh close to the train station. It has everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel but at a fraction of the price
An award winning designer was commissioned to create the beautiful and romantic 'The St James’ Residence' apartment. This plush apartment is situated just off the east end of Princes Street and its beautiful public gardens. Despite its central location, there is yet more greenery just a stone’s throw from this apartment to the iconic Calton Hill. Views of, and from, Calton Hill – which is studded with major monuments and historic buildings and burial grounds, frequently appear in paintings and photographs to illustrate the sheer beauty of the city. As such, the apartment is particularly suited to couples enjoying a romantic getaway or city break.
The fabrics are sumptuous and the colour palette is rich and luxurious, including the use of charcoal, golds, regal purple and subtle tartans. Designer wallpaper and accessories give a contemporary Scottish twist and you will come across one or two quirky touches to bring a smile to your face!
The apartment consists of a bedroom; a bright lounge with dining area; a separate, small kitchen (accessed via sliding doors from the lounge) with all mod cons; and a fresh and contemporary shower room.
Luxury comes as standard. The finest Egyptian cotton bed linen; underfloor heating in the bathroom; a spacious and comfortable king size bed with high quality pocket sprung mattress; fluffy white bath towels and robes; a feature fire; sumptuous velvet curtains; flat screen TV with DVD player (with selection of DVDs); chandeliers; a Bluetooth speaker; complimentary wifi; designer furniture and accessories; and the well-fitted bathroom with Scottish toiletries all give you the feel of a boutique hotel suite.
Superior to a hotel, however, the luxurious St James’ Residence also give you the benefit of flexibility and independence. There are lovely restaurants and bars on your doorstep or you can choose to cook a romantic meal in the fully fitted and well equipped kitchen. Tea, coffee and delicious locally made shortbread are provided. Alternatively, head out for a picnic in Princes Street Gardens or up Calton Hill with the picnic blanket provided.
You will have exclusive use of the whole apartment

There are pay and display parking bays in nearby George Street at a cost of £3.60 per hour. However, for the cheapest parking in the city head towards 15 Carlton Road where you will find a small car park opposite the stamp office where you can park for £12 for 24 hours.
As the apartment is so central, you will find you do not need your car while exploring Edinburgh.
