The pictures tell the story of this premium 2 story bungalow in a WeHo private compound. Location is everything in LA - walk to so much, and bike to everything else from this house, it's truly unique in that regard, to be so quiet yet so close to the action. This poolside oasis is high-tech but stress free. My heart and soul goes into the space every day, constantly upgrading the yard and the house and travelers have loved the experience for five years and counting now... Hope we see you soon!!
This quiet, elegant urban oasis feels like home on vacation. Sit by the heated pool in the Cali sun or dine by firelight, this place is all about living outside. Best location in WeHo. Serene and silent, but right in the thick of it!
The Upstairs Unit is the main living space (full description below) and the ground floor space is the living room, office, another full kitchen, the bunkbeds tucked away, and cine/audiophiles' dream entertainment system (full description below) You will have your own private entrance to the bungalow through the gate so you can come and go at will and and feel that it's your own space.
The Pool and outdoor spaces are shared with the front house which is only ever me - you are going to get the place to yourself even when I'm home (I do travel a lot also), unless you want company, and to talk about the hood and get recs, which I am more than happy to provide, I will leave you alone.
So in a sense, we share the outdoor space inherent in the design of the house, but it's not a condo complex or shared with anyone else and you are going to feel like the whole thing is your place - it just feels that way, private, trust me - when I'm home I have a very low footprint - not an awkward interaction situation ever.
Permitted street parking is provided and never an issue.
A master bedroom with a new Leesa queen mattress, Frette sheets, and a comfy Crate+Barrel pullout couch in the living room allows the upstairs to sleep up to four adults. An extra set of premium bedding with down comforter and feather pillows are at the ready in the master closet for easy access and setup to the pullout couch.
This condo is stacked with primo appliances, marble and tile, and delicate finishings. With newly installed Central Air and a Nest thermostat you will always feel a perfect temp. We also just added a Miele top of the line slimline dishwasher.
The Condo now has a 4 zone Sonos system throughout (just pick up the house iPad and choose from 6 of the top music services including Spotify, Deezer and Tidal) and a beautiful new HD TV big-screen - the living room is Sonos 5.1 Surround capable. With a new Apple TV and the full monty DirecTv, and a PS3 (should be 4 any minute now) you can expect a Hollywood style in-home entertainment system. It's an audiophiles dream.
Downstairs is a large open space but with yet another full kitchen and bath. This space functions as the pool house living room and an office and also has the Leesa-matressed bunk beds tucked out of the way. Same kind of primo everything downstairs, just like upstairs. Large screen UHD TV and surround sound 5.1 with ultra primo components. This space is great for the kids to bunk away and to give the upstairs privacy. The spaces have separate entrances to enhance that kind of privacy. The four sets of doors open right out onto the pool and I like to keep them open on a nice day, acts as a large
The back bungalow upstairs and downstairs and outdoor spaces in the back - the pool, firepit etc.

If you want advice on where to eat and hang or hike or party, I'm a pretty good resource. That being said, I will leave it up to you to engage me, otherwise I take your privacy very seriously. In all honesty though, if you are already an AirBnBer you are gonna love the idea of us all opening all our doors and windows and hanging out - I'm all about it if you are.

The Beverly Center Mall can be easily walked to if you head south from the house and out of the dead end at the end of the street and around the Sofitel – there are escalators on the north side of the mall. They have every luxury retailer in the world and Bloomindales, Apple Store, etc. In the mood for an ultra luxury Japanese mani/pedi, try Mars Salon and after one can luncheon at Urth Café, sit outside on a lovely day – they are on Melrose and Westmount – it’s a hotspot and great for food and coffee and, of course, world-class people watching.
There is excellent shopping all around the neighborhood, all easily walked to. There is a new Rag&Bone flagship on Melrose just east of Urth Café and then lots more shopping on Melrose east of La Cienega. There is also a brand new, beautiful public library on San Vicente between Melrose and Santa Monica to sit and get some work done among glass and light.
I also like Robertson Blvd. between Burton and Melrose. You can have an excellent lunch at Ciccone’s, or The Ivy and then walk around Robertson and do some window shopping.
Or walk to Son of a Gun or Joan’s On 3rd for lunch and check out the 3rd St. shopping and dining strip – in the mood for Mexican and a brisk, sexy after work crowd here, try Toca Madera.
My favorite upscale restaurants for dinner close to the house are Nobu, Lucques, Ink, AOC, Providence, Fig & Olive, Dan Tana’s, Gracias Madre, Trois Mec, Craig’s and The Nice Guy. For family fun and organic, tasty food try Kreation Organic and Real Food Daily – the chicken kabobs with spicy organic chipotle hot sauce and a red velvet smoothie do the job post workout at Kreation.
- Place can be considered for a one day/night event but for overnight guests no parties are allowed - get togethers within reason of course, but not a party pad, this is a neighborhood :)

I'm James from LA: love music, film, sunshine and new friends.
I LOVE to travel, maniacal about it. So I know how important and central one's lodging situation is to that overall experience. When you never want to leave your home-base you're on the right track, but more importantly, when you do, it's the perfect journey every time. I sincerely want people to feel the way I have felt on my favorite world-wide trips and will stop at nothing to make sure that my home is the solid foundation of that enterprise. AirBnB has gotten a bit commercial and bland in the last few years with the speculators opening up Mc-listings everywhere, I want to harken back to the time when each experience was an adventure, a unique glimpse into what it feels like, for a local, to be living in the place you are exploring. It's all the difference. It's a vibe thing. I want to share that.
