Hi and welcome to the Thar Desert in the village of Khuri located 40 km east of Jaisalmer. My place emerges like a golden mirage, which unfolds the charming romance of the Thar Desert.
It is a toast to the erstwhile Maharajas and you will be treated like one with a panache that leaves you overwhelmed since it recreated the magic of the Silk Route which was the only source of income in ancient times for the traders of Jaisalmer.
A stay here will surely enthrall you and leave you asking for more!
The place that you’ll be staying is located in the ‘Khuri’ village which was founded by my forefathers. The mantle of keeping the village up and putting it up on the Tourism Map has been passed on to the current generation which is the 7th one of the royal family of Khuri. It is located on the country side road and the famous Sand dunes of ‘Khuri’ are at a distance of just 2 kilometers. My purpose of starting this place was to make an oasis in the desert area and that is what has been driving me for the past 5 years. The surrounding desert village ‘Khuri’ is well known in Tourism in Jaisalmer and all the credit for that goes to my forefathers especially my Father (Shri Bhagwaan Singh Sodha) for establishing it as a Tourist destination and also establishing the village in the modern times.
The room shown here is a Luxury Cottage having a King-Size Bed. The mattress is 6 inch thick comfort mattress which will give you the best sleep of your life (I can bet you on that!). The room has an Air Conditioner which can cool the room to the desired temperature in few minutes. All the furniture in the room right from the desk/workspace to the luggage rack and the dressing table is made from antique wood. The attached bathroom has access to Hot & Cold water with European Style Seating Pot. There are bedside lamps for your reading comfort as well. There is also a small 'Jharokha' (Balcony) with small mattress for you to relax on and have your evening tea!
My place is situated in a desert village but I have tried my best to keep it lush green with plantations from different parts of India such as a Mango plants, Pomegranates, Dates and many other varieties of flowers (I have flowers in the desert, can you believe that?). The village surrounding us has a population of 2500 people so you’ll experience peace like you have never seen it before. Also, since my place is away from the hustle-bustle of the city life, pollution is something that we don’t have to deal with (So that means a clear night sky and the stars sprinkling stardust on you!). This also means that you can walk around freely in the village and nobody will disturb you (Coz everyone will be fast asleep!). The lighting around my place is something that enhances the beauty all around and also the water fountain (I have that, you know!) is something that shines bright in the dark. Also, the dunes are just a 2 km distance away from my place

I love to interact with my guests and tell them about my place, its culture, the history of the Village and my family and how my forefathers decided to establish this village. Not only I try to help them with their travel plans but also guide them in the best ways possible. My younger brother “Dashrat” who along with me is running the property will be there to guide you in my absence.

I'm Gajendra Singh, a native of village "Khuri" which is located 40 km east of Jaisalmer. Khuri village was founded by "Thakur Daulat Singh Ji" who was my Great-Great-Great-Grandfather and the mantle of maintaining the village and bringing it on the Tourism Map of India & Jaisalmer has been passed on to me.
I love to Travel, meet new people and explore new places. Since I like to be involved in adventure activities (Trekking, Hill/Wall Climbing, Safaris), I have traveled extensively in the Himalayas, The Coastal areas (Goa, Daman & Diu and Kutch). I also love to Cook and exchange recipes with my friends/guests while my love for music (Rajasthani Folk, Sufi & Blues) sustains my soul.
I graduated college from Jaipur and then decided to return to my native village since I had that inner calling of giving something back to this place which has been home to my family for 7 generations.
My style of Hosting is to interact with my guests just like my friends and show them the amazing life of the desert while giving them a glimpse of the authentic Rajasthani life.
My Motto is "Atithhi Devo Bhava" meaning Guest is God!!
See you soon!
