****Excuse any typos, my strength is art, not grammar****
Our space is completely new and passed all inspections and up to 2017 codes.
The house was built in 1919 so we aimed to keep original detail— wainscoting, millwork, original clawfoot, subway tile, all while updating to modern standards and amenities.
The unit has radiant in-floor heating. Makes for very comfy atmosphere. No blowing furnaces or ducts--however you'll hear the rumbling of the unit from time to time in the closet. ---not a monster in the closet-----for hot days, we have a ductless AC / unit (which also can supply heat if needed)
The potable water runs on a tankless system, so you can always expect hot/warm water right away and to never run out.
All new double-paned windows, most opening for fresh or cooler air if needed. Both bedrooms have good-size (egress) windows.
Mostly out of ground and has good natural light for a lower-level unit. The bedrooms in the back (are partially underground) so they stay nice and cool (even in very hot days) as well as a bit darker for sunny morning sleep-ins. Currently we have a celling fan in the larger bedroom but hope to have one in the other soon.
Free un-zoned street parking. Unlike a lot of Seattle areas, you should not have a problem finding a spot on our street and near or within reason to the unit.
Private entrance. Entry door is controlled by a key pad, so no keys. We will provide am entry code upon your arrival. Note: Most houses around here sit up from the street and the unit has about 11 steps up to the front door.
West bedroom: Average size bedroom with a Queen bed and two good-size night stands, sleeps 2 comfortably
West bedroom: A bit larger size with a Queen bed a night stand, and thick comfortable futon couch (good for 1 adult, 2 smaller adults or 2 kids). Sleeps 3-4
Living room: Couch pulls out to a full/queen mattress that sleeps 1-2
Other: We have a Pack-n-Play (hall closet) as well as an 18-inch high queen-size air mattress (bedroom closet) for additional dwelling arrangements.
Coat hooks, plenty of cabinets in the kitchen, and both bedrooms have good-size closets with hangers and dressers/drawers
For those traveling with kids (kids at heart), we've included a Pack-n-Play, a high-chair, a booster chair, a few toys, books, games/board games, and DVD movies. We have a lot of kids’ stuff upstairs, so of course done hesitate to ask if you need or forgot something!
Direct, and exclusive access to a good size yard and patio space with seating and a BBQ. A bonus in the warmer months! Please take advantage in the Seattle's beautiful spring/summer months!
WASHER / DRYER
Washer and dryer in unit, supplied with detergent and dryer sheets.
Large bathroom with standing rain-head shower and a separate (original) clawfoot tub that has been re-finished. High-end fixtures. 36" vanity with drawers and under sink and drawer storage.
Towels and basic toiletries (toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, soap) are provided. Plus a jar of 'extra' toiletries if you so happen to forget that important one.
Fully-equipped (plates, cups, utensils, kids cutlery/plates etc.) large chef-inspired kitchen including 4-burner gas range, large fridge, over-sized farm sink, and dishwasher.
Other appliances include toaster oven, microwave, KitchenAid counter mixer (great for pancakes!), coffee maker, hand mixer, blender, and electric kettle for the tea drinkers. We’ve supplied quality pots and pans for those who like to cook!
Also supplied are basics (that you wouldn't want to buy at the store): flour, sugar, oil, essential spices, etc. As well as ground coffee, tea, oatmeal for a DIY breakfast. There's always potluck arrangement of extras too which could range from granola bars, bagels, butter, milk etc. I leave any unused fridge items until they are expired then remove. So please free to use what you see, it's all up for grabs.
Main living space has a 50" smart LED TV with basic channels and active guest Netflix, Amazon video and Hulu accounts.
Bedroom TVs each have Chromecasts so you directly cast your apps from your own device(s) as well as basic channels (depending on the antenna signal)
East Bedroom is a smartTV with the same active guest Netflix, Amazon video and Hulu accounts to just chill out with a flick.
Also there are games, books, and toys supplied
We have a sectional sofa bed (that opens to a bed) two chairs, a fireplace and a large smart TV.
An over-sized gas fireplace with remote for chilly nights. Or just chilly people like myself. This will heat up the space fast if you need it!
An office nook area for laptops users with wi-fi and hard connection.
A large dining area, large dining table with 6 chairs, as well as and eat up counter with 4 comfy counter stools. Plenty of seating for diners.
POTENTIAL FOR NOISE
We've insulated above and beyond between units, but we do live upstairs and just like any other apartment-style living, you'll likely hear occasional footsteps, and living noise.
We also live fairly close to a freeway. It’s a bonus to us and many, 'cause it’s very convenient for getting around. However, there is an ambient level of noise outside if you're hanging out on the patio. We pretend we’re at the ocean. You won't really much of that inside, so should not disturb your stay/sleep.
You'll have access to the whole lower level MIL apartment with it's own separate entrance
You'll also have exclusive access to the front yard space and patio space. It's beautiful in the summer here so take advantage!
We share a entry walk-way. Say hi if you see us coming and going!
Общение с гостями
We understand everyone is different, so more than happy to interact, give pointers on things to do, etc
We can keep to ourselves and just know we're a text/call away if you need anything!
Другие важные подробности
While we're new to the Airbnb host scene, we're not new to the hospitality / landlord scene. We don't have reviews yet, but I can comfortably say we and the space will not let you down. Have a current (temporary) family renting now who absolutely loves the space! We're responsive, responsible, and friendly, to boot. We truly want make your stay great.
Our price is on the market low-end to make up for the 'new' status, so take advantage now :)
Repeat from earlier: While we've double-insulated for sound, in fact you can't hear any talking noise between units. Yipppee! You may hear occasional footsteps, etc. So in other words, it's not vibration proof... to be expected on most lower-level units, but noting here for those who may be extra sensitive to noise.
This is our family home. Our house is your house, so please treat it with respect as if it were your own. Be an awesome guest (and we as well) and all should be well!
And be respectful of our neighbors (reasonable / light noise levels outside after 10pm) we can't hear much upstairs so noise inside generally is not an issue.
Seattle is a green city and therefore recycle and compost (yeah!)
Please use the receptacles (labeled) accordingly.
A bit of a pain, but worth it in the long run.
Thank you for not flushing anything but the toilet paper we provide down the toilets (instead please place bin next to the toilet).
Please no smoking (of any kind) in the house, we have a lovely guest patio for that. Pot is legal here in Seattle, but please smoke it outside as well. Be courteous and clean up your greens/butts/ash.
Although we thoroughly clean between guests, we would love on your last day the kitchen is wiped down and any dishes used are at very least in the dishwasher, please run if you can. We ask if you have time to put any USED sheets or towels on the bathroom floor, no need to wash.
*****PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE DUVETS from COMFORTERS, KEEP INTACT*****
We’re a Seattle native family of 3, soon to be 4. Myself (Lindsay, graphic designer, and lover of garage sales), the hubby Jeff ( super handy, skilled carpenter, who loves collecting vintage guitars) Tate (a 4-year old with some mad dance skills) and baby girl on the way!
As the artist and carpenter duo team, we’ve spent the last 2+ years putting heart (and a ton of blood, sweat and tears) into updating our charming 1919 home.
Including the addition of the lower-level Airbnb unit. We wanted to retain the charm of the original era, including wainscoting, original doors, original claw-foot tub, all while appeasing to modern standards. Already Airbnb travelers, and now as host, we’ve become Aribnb-rounded.
When we’re not Airbnb-ing we love to explore our city and all that it has to offer. Running / walking / rollerskating Green Lake, browsing farmers markets and festivals, drinking local craft beers, (then working it off at the University Y), taking a bus downtown to just explore, getting out for a hike, and hopefully squeeze in the a few road trips from time to time! Just getting out, walking around the neighborhood to take in all the beautiful and unique architecture is enough for great evening. Seattle is an amazing city and we're lucky to call it home.
