Jungle Cottage by the Bay in our favorite City by the Gulf, is a "hidden gem of a spot" for rest and relaxation just steps, (literally 3 houses!) from Sarasota Bay.

At our Jungle Cottage By the Bay, in the Indian Beach/Sapphire Shores neighborhood, you will experience an "old-florida" tropical getaway, only minutes from everything Sarasota had to offer.
Our clean, cheery, well-appointed 1925, Art & Crafts Cottage has high-ceilings and roomy eat-in kitchen. It has 2-Bedrooms, 1.5 baths, with a large jetted tub, (but no shower in the Master Bath). It is located on an extremely quiet street in the hip eclectic and historic Indian Beach neighborhood. West of Trail and close to downtown, it has a private driveway, a secluded fenced yard perfect for well-behaved pets, and a private screened-in porch as well as a small front deck.
Walk or bike to everything from the house including: Downtown, Marina Jack's and Bayfront Park, The Ringling Art School, The Ringling Art Museum and famous Ca-D'Zaan.
Indian Beach is one of the oldest and most "close-in" neighborhoods "West of Trail". It is known for peace, quite, and architectural and cultural character, right in the heart of the city. Unique and historic Spanish style and Craftsmen Style homes with that Ringling Circus "flair" from the 1920's, make walking this neighborhood a real treat for those who enjoy architecture, tropical plantings and an escape from "cookie-cutter" developments. And the bay is always close by with several public access points. The winding streets of Indian Beach are shaded under a canopy of some of Sarasota's oldest Live Oak trees, dripping with Spanish Moss.
Our "Cottage" is really a small house literally 3 houses to bay access with a small neighborhood bay front park where you can enjoy wine and sunsets on a bench under a palm tree each evening.
The city of Sarasota is lovely and cultured. Renowned for it's terrific downtown with farmer's markets, art galleries, shops, coffee houses, varied restaurants, public parks, marinas, fishing, and of course, it's world class beaches...all "set" to the best weather in the world!
Our place is near to it all!
You will have access to a full, separate 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom home with driveway, screened porch and fenced yard on a large tropical lot with fruit trees and Florida plantings.
Shawn's brother Adam lives in the smaller guest house in the back behind the main house. He works a lot and keeps to himself, but could be of help in a pinch if you needed something. We also have a dear friend who lives nearby who knows the house and the city, and can help out with issues that might arise.
Adam's Guesthouse has it's own private deck and space around it that keeps the Guesthouse quite separate from the Main House's fenced yard. Adam might just pop into the Main House's yard to grab a lemon off the tree, but otherwise the spaces are very private and separate and it's "your own" house and yard.
The house has a washer / dryer in the kitchen in a closet.

We will be out of the area most times that guests come and go, but are available remotely. Sue, our friend or Adam can help out in a pinch.
Generally the place will be set up to be "self service" for self sufficient-type guests who will take good care to leave the place as they found it and follow some basic rules, (for example, garbage, recycling and self check-in/check-out).

-Take CARE not to scratch or dent NEW front door. No doggie scratches please!

Guest will have the driveway, though Adam, (in the guest house) uses the driveway when there are no guests in the main house, he will generally park his car on the street, (easy, free street parking) when Guests are in the Main House. Just please take care on the narrow streets of this old neighborhood not to impact the neighbors by blocking their driveways if you do park on the street for some reason, (an extra car, guest of yours, etc.)
No smoking please. Enjoy the place and leave it as you found it.
