Our home is about 8 miles outside of the Town of Abingdon and is surrounded by great views of the mountains. Our neighborhood is small and intimate, consisting of many retired folks and just several younger families with kids. Our home is an excellent choice for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. If you want to just rest, relax and take in the beautiful views, this is the place for you. For those who want more action, you are not far from many options to suit you!
This listing is for a large bedroom on the lower floor (garage level) of our home. The bedroom has a Queen bed and its own bathroom. This bedroom is accessible from the garage or a front door from the patio.
On this lower level of our home, there is also a Recreation Room with two sofas and a large screen TV for use. The hallway has a wet bar with a sink, under-counter fridge and a coffee maker. Ample parking in our driveway. The kitchen is on the next level - up 17 steps - and is available for breakfast of coffee and pastries or cereal. There is a screened porch off the kitchen (back of the house) and also a front porch with a breathtaking view!

My husband (Darnell) and I are both retired from 25 & 30 years of service, respectively, with the City of Norfolk. He was a Police Officer and I was a Computer Programmer/Analyst. We retired in Abingdon, VA in 2004 to an awesome location several miles outside of town, with a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and part of South Holston Lake. We each have part-time jobs; I also volunteer at a Food Pantry with our local church and at the Barter Theatre (as an usher). We have a 26 month old yellow lab "puppy" (large) and a very social young cat; both of them think that they are the owners of this place!
