The Ivywood Cottage is in Historic Downtown Summerville and steps away from the Summerville Farmer's Market along with nearby restaurants and shops. This adorable, well-appointed cottage will be just the retreat you are looking for when you visit Summerville. The equipped kitchen will allow you to enjoy dining in or you could opt to take a short walk to delicious restaurants in town.
Summerville's history is founded in old Inns and retreats. The Ivywood cottage is a "downtown" retreat in the historic district of Summerville with a nod to the past. The cottage is relaxing, comfortable and beautifully appointed. The architecture will take you back to the 1920's with its bead board walls and ceilings. The furnishings speak of a handsome, woodland getaway with finishing details of sporting dogs, birds, ferns, and horses. The name "Ivywood Cottage" comes from the little ivy plant that grows through the baseboard. You might see the ivy leaves peeking through, so don't be alarmed. This location is perfect for the guest looking to discover our little downtown, or as a guest cottage nearby family in the downtown area.
Should our guest want to cook fresh cuisine and dine in, there are full sets of dinnerware, flatware and stemmed wine glasses to help make our guests feel at home. In temperate weather, our favorite spot is on the screened porch, enjoying the birds and fresh air. We should note the fragrant tea olive tree is just outside the front door, to enjoy while relaxing on the screened porch. However, should our guests prefer to stay inside, the living/dining area has cable television and wireless internet throughout the cottage. There is a desk provided in the bedroom for a working space or vanity with plenty of space to plug in devices. The bedroom also features a closet with iron and ironing board and a full length mirror as well as a vanity mirror over the desk. There are a pair of drawer chests on either side of the queen bed for storing clothes away and extra plugs for night time charging of cell phones. The bedroom shades feature room darkening lining, to allow a little sleeping in in the morning.
Our guests will have full access to the cottage, with a furnished screened porch, living room, dining area, fully appointed kitchen, bedroom with desk and bathroom. There is a small back yard with a couple of chairs and a dedicated parking space.

I am a fifth generation Summervillian who has invested in the downtown experience by having my interior design business in the historic district of our town. I love fixing up old buildings and homes. My family is most important to me. Our favorite spot is on our old cottage porch enjoying the garden, the birds and each other over a glass of wine.
