A comfy living room sofa bed in our fifth floor loft in a historic building with an invigorating view of the entire city! In our calm but lively neighborhood you'll have access to public transportation to take you anywhere you'd like. With plenty of food and fun options nearby, this is a great stop for casual travelers to get a taste of Chicago.
Please note, we have a cat!
Our home is basically made up of a living room/kitchen, our bedroom, a small den, and a bathroom--your sofa bed is located in the living room. This means it's a shared space, but during your stay we will be sure to give you your privacy and to ensure you feel at home.
Our's is the tallest building in the neighborhood, and being on the fifth floor, we have an uninterrupted view of the entire skyline as well as a great deal of the surrounding city. On a clear day you can see what Chicago is up to all over town, and on a stormy day you can watch the weather come and go and see the lightning strike the skyscrapers and hear the thunder rumble for miles.
Additionally our unit, though small, has a spacious feel, with 11' ceilings and hardwood floors. The open floor plan also means you can see the world through the 7' tall windows from the majority of the apartment. We frankly chose this place first off for the view--it really just feels so refreshing.
The building itself is also quite cool! Historically an important factory for the Florsheim Shoe Company, my grandpa actually made boots for the air force during WWII on these very same floors! The complex maintains an industrial feel as a nod to its past, though is comfortably designed to feel like a modern Chicago home.
NOTE: We have a cute, tubby tabby cat! He'll usually leave you well enough alone, but, being a cat, he has been known to goof around a bit at night and may paw at your toes. You've been warned! Additionally, since he likes to paw at doors, we usually leave our bedroom door open a tad at night to let him come and go as he pleases.
During your stay you'll have access to our living room/music room, kitchen and bathroom, and upon request we'd love to show you the exercise room in our building as well!

Our building does not offer guest parking, however there is generally fairly easy to find parking on the surrounding streets during the weekend. During the week it's a bit more difficult as some of the streets don't allow parking during rush hours. We will be glad to help you find a spot for your car, however please be sure to carefully read the parking signs for restrictions on different days and times.

As our home is in a large building with many other residents we expect all guests to be considerate of our neighbors. Quiet hours in the building are from 10pm to 6am on weekdays, and from 11:59pm to 6am on weekends.
We have lots of fun (and fragile/expensive!) music equipment which we ask you to be respectful of during your stay. If you'd like to use any of it, please feel welcome to ask, we love sharing music with our guests and we'd love to jam!
We also have several little critters in our home including a small corn snake, a crested gecko, and some exotic freshwater fish. We love sharing these little guys with guests as well but we ask you not to bother them during your stay by tapping on their cages, knocking them as you move around, or trying to feed them. There's plenty more fun things to do with them so please ask if you'd like to meet them--they're real sweet!
We've always got some snacks and beer around the house which you're welcome to enjoy, but please don't dive into our fridge and cabinets too deep without permission--and if it looks like a rare beer, please ask first or you might make a grown man cry.
We reserve the right to add reasonable rules and restrictions with notice, though I can't imagine what they'd be anyways, so don't worry about that.
