Our immaculate home has great views and peace and quiet. We are located in Concord's most upscale community. We're adjacent to open space and trails. We enjoy wildlife viewing including raptors, coyotes, deer, bobcats, and more. We are close to John Muir Medical Center, the Joint Genome Institute (and have hosted many of their researchers and post-docs), and convenient to San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, and Wine Country. Your room will be immaculate and peaceful.

Martin and Rene are hospitable hosts, good cooks, gardeners, and avid travelers. Our children are grown--leaving us with a large, luxurious, quiet house. We love hosting visitors. We also love dogs and recently lost our beloved Golden Retriever, Zack. If you are travelling with your furry companion, let us know. We'll consider waiving our "no pets" policy.
Hosting through AirBNB has been a wonderful and enriching experience. We've learned so much about people and cultures (South Africa, which we then visited; Iran; Australia; lavender farming in the South of France; cricket; cheesemaking; and many others.) After a 2 year hiatus during which we sold our home in Walnut Creek and moved to a new place, we're ready to host guests in Concord's most upscale community where we have a large, comfortable home with great views that we enjoy sharing.
Our interests include entertaining, reading, water sports, hiking, biking, fishing (Martin, that is), traveling, contemporary quilting (Rene, that is), music, and gardening. And people! We love our local wines and can suggest many wine itineraries, and sometimes go tasting with our guests.
Our guests have a TV and exercise room--good for the night owls. Both of our guest suites are completely private with en suite bathrooms.
We have hiking, tennis, an Olympic size pool, and biking right out the door. Mount Diablo is adjacent to our home, as is open space for some lovely hikes.
Breakfast is a casual affair with cereals, yogurt, fruit, coffee and tea available. When we can coordinate schedules, we're happy to prepare a hot breakfast for you. There is always good quality coffee, tea, etc. to get your day started.
