Room or couch available anytime in this 1917 single family bungalow style home, True to the bungalow architecture, the home has generous windows, arts and crafts style wood working, hard wood floors, and a claw-foot bathtub. This house is located in a culturally diverse area of Albuquerque with museums, performance art facilities, and cultural amenities within walking distance. It is also conveniently located near great food, breweries/pubs, and historic Old Town.
This home is located in downtown Albuquerque, one and a half blocks from the Convention Center/Civic Plaza and cycling distance from the Bosque bike/running trail. Free off-street parking is available for those who are renting a car or driving through and there are a number of bus stops close by for those taking public transportation. Easy access to I-40 and I-25 for people who want to visit the mountains to the east. The Balloon Fiesta grounds are about a 10 minute drive away (traffic depending), and the Sandia Peak Tram is about a 20 minute commute. Pets and guests are always welcome at an additional $5 each/night.
However, if you are looking for a sterile environment that misses the diverse nature of the City, this house will not fit your needs. As close as we are to elementary schools, parks and grower's markets, we are also located a few blocks away from the heart of downtown - ie the multi-story federal, county, and municipal court houses, the headquarters for both Bernalillo County Sheriff and Albuquerque Police Departments, and even a few sky-scraping banks and hotels. Given all of this, the neighborhood is quiet and it's not uncommon to find children playing on the sidewalks or to bump into one of the many ABQ pet owners out walking their dogs.
