My place is known for its home-like atmosphere, friendly hospitality, in a quiet neighborhood just above downtown Issaquah on Squak Mountain. We are close to trails and less than ten minutes drive from Swedish Hospital. We welcome couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers from all over.
The house is shaded by an ancient cedar tree and has a bit of a rustic quality with wood floors and some exposed large wooden beams. The art work includes a variety of Christian icons as well as items from East and South Asia.
The house has two floors. There is one Airbnb room, a large common room, a deck, and a shared bathroom on each floor. This way, there is likely to be a bathroom available whenever you or I need it. The dining room and kitchen are on the main floor . Guests are asked to use only the refrigerators in the dining room and to remove all their food when they leave. WiFi works throughout the house and cable TV is available in the main common room. There is a garden in front of the house, but the yard behind the house is currently being re-landscaped and is a bit of a mess.

I am available to answer questions and offer suggestions to those visiting the area or in the process of settling here. I keep a drawer full of maps, brochures, restaurant coupons, bus schedules, and trail guides. I can also look things up for you on the computer.

A Russian Blue cat lives with me.
- If you smoke, please do so outdoors. Shoes may be worn indoors, but not high heels as they damage the floors. Please be courteous and clean up after yourself in the common spaces. Let the hostess know when you will be coming back late or bringing guests home.
I care about social justice and engage in advocacy for affordable housing. I love to garden, forage, cook, and read good books -- especially ones about real people who lived lives of courage and compassion. I enjoy listening to stories, and doing ordinary things side by side with good friends, even when no words are spoken. Quiet walks in the forest and dancing in the kitchen refresh my soul. I dream of starting an intentional community similar to that of the Beguines in the Middle Ages.
I live with a grey cat named Pneuma, a Russian Blue which is reputed to be hypoallergenic. She likes to ride on my shoulders and is generally friendly, but does not always like to be petted on her lower back.
