Nice sunny bedroom on the second floor of my freshly remodeled, zero-energy house near Ocean Beach and GG Park. Comfy bed in a modern room with hardwood floors.
Great commercial area a half block away on Judah where the Muni train rides (30 min to downtown). Easier parking and nice mellow vibe with good restaurants, cafes and nature combined. Check out the reviews for more.
FLEXIBLE check in on your own any time by an automated entry lock. And don't worry, I never cancel reservations.
Private bedroom in the main space of the house, with kitchen and bath shared with me and my dog Desmo (well, Desmo doesn't use the bath all that much, but you get my meaning). Quiet unit in a safe, walkable neighborhood with sounds, smells and vibe of Ocean Beach. Laundry on site.
Parking is hit or miss, but much easier than most of SF, with lots of turnover, and the driveway is always available for a few hours while things clear out. Public transportation is excellent, and Uber/Lyft are affordable options for most of the city sites.
Clean bedding and towels of course, plus nice comfy bathrobes. Internet is included, with a bluetooth speaker, candles, and a 40" TV in the room with Netflix and Amazon or your own streaming service. ...and there's a laser starfield generator in every room! I'm addicted to this beautiful contraption. Just added an Alexa Echo Dot to every room too, which tells good jokes if nothing else!
My dog Desmo and I live on the same floor. Desmo is never allowed in the room, and she is super nice and good with people and other dogs and always open to visitors.
If you have more than 2 people, check out the listing for the Private Studio on the ground floor also on AirBnB, or ask me about the loft space with a comfy queen bed, TV and pillow-palace.
Kitchen and bathroom are shared. Feel free to cook or make coffee and use the fridge and dining table. Plenty of storage and a nice walk-in closet and coat closet. The living room is where Desmo and I hang out most of the time, and you're welcome to join us, or you may prefer to hang out in the privacy of the room with wifi, TV, work desk, and a couple comfy chairs.

As much or as little as you like. Feel free to have a private stay or some conversations and meals with me. Let me know in your intro message if you want your stay to be private or social.
The living area is shared with me and my pooch. It's generally pretty quiet around here, with random visits and some social events. As the pricing reflects, there is minimal living and dining room furniture and therefore use, as I'm just finishing up the furnishings details. The bedroom is a decent size for hanging out, and the kitchen is always available for cooking.
If you like, I'm glad to share my knowledge of 28 years in SF and AK and what I love about Ocean Beach. Speaking for Desmo, she will sit and engage you in conversation any time.
Check out my profile page to see what my day to day is like, and feel free to intersect where it interests you. Dog walks and eating are always good times to meet.

AirBnB's 'strict' policy is more strict than I really want, but is closest to what I actually do with manual refunds. I'll generally refund full fees up to one month prior to the stay, and at least 50% up to two weeks prior, unless it's a long stay reservation or the off-season. Even then, the room usually re-books pretty quickly, even last-minute, and in that case of course I'll refund fully. If you want to change number of guests, I'll always refund the extra fees for guests more than the minimum, as that fee mostly covers utility and cleaning costs. Also, I'll never cancel from my end.
The building was built in 1917 and I completely redesigned and remodeled it last year including an earthquake retrofit. It operates to near-net-zero energy use with solar PV panels on the roof and some cool energy monitoring and convenient lighting automation to play with or just enjoy.

I'm a Michigander originally, now loving life out here by the beach where the surf is pretty good and never crowded, and my dog is always at least as happy as me/I. I spent many years in Alaska as an architect, builder, fisherman and float plane pilot, and I lived on my sailboat out of Berkeley and traveled by moto for sailing, mountaineering or rock climbing trips for many years before that (South America rocks). I think I really found my home in the Outer Sunset, where it all seems to come together.
I suppose at this point I'm a bit of a San Francisco cliche: I'm a happy bachelor surfer, architect and builder, self-employed software developer and experimenting with a tech startup that will of course be totally disruptive! (ie really good). Until recently I worked at Autodesk on energy analysis software, and before that split my time between SF and Alaska on various things from design to consulting to fishing and climbing (it really is the frontier!).
I'm living and working at home much of the time, between as much surfing or biking or walking the dog as I can get. I'm also always tinkering and finishing up details on the house, working on my moto, or experimenting with electronic gizmos and energy automation. I just finished rebuilding my old Ford Renger engine (it runs!), and the next project is to build the new shelving system for the giant book wall on the main floor of the house.
