Are you ready to soak up the setting sun or head out on an adventure nearby? This home is 2 minutes to Kokanee park, Nelson is 15 mins away and Ainsworth hotsprings is only 25 mins. You’ll love the house because of the epic view, the ambiance, the light, the amazing sound system, fully equipped kitchen and the wild surrounding forests. My place is good for couples and families with kids 3+. The driveway is very steep, AWD vehicles and a short walk up to the house are worth it!
My house is a modern and new, finished in 2013, open concept design with a concrete floor and back wall that is built into the mountain side. This design is called passive solar and it is very well insulated so it will stay nice and cool indoors in the heat of the day as long as you keep the doors closed mid day. The very high ceilings make the place feel roomy yet comfortable at 1500sq/ft.
The house has a custom made metal railings and accents as well as numerous beautiful wooden pieces of furniture.
The space is also ideal for a healing getaway. I have a yoga mat, foam rollers and exercise ball available for guests to use. You can also book in for an 'in-house'' massage from me. For more details on this you can check out my website, TopfitnesswithAnna.
We also have a built in amazing sound system so make sure that you have your iphone filled with your favorite tunes and you can connect in using blue tooth.
The kitchen has everything that you may need and more. It really is inspiring to cook while gazing out at the lake. We also have a BBQ and a table and chairs outside.
The master bedroom has a King bed and also has a flat screen TV with net flix access and closet space.
The second bedroom is small and has a comfortable double bed and shelf unit. This bedroom also has the cat door to the outside in it so the door to the bedroom must remain slightly opened during the day and night to let the kitty outside.
The third bed is a queen bed located in the living room. It has a privacy screen around it.
I would not recommend this property for toddlers as the out door space includes many steep drop offs which may be concerning to parents.
The futon in the living room also pulls out to a queen sized bed that is comfortable.
The house is new and the landscaping surrounding it has not been completed. A part of the ongoing project...
The surrounding property includes 33 acres of forest that you can feel free to explore.
The house is fed by amazing spring water. In the hot summer months the spring slows production so it is important to not overuse water. Short showers are recommended and please don't leave taps running.
Thank you for being water conscious :)
You have access to the entire house. It is private and the closest neighbor is a yurt 400 ft away. There are also 33 acres of back yard that you can wander up. About 1000ft up the backyard is a Tipi which is where I will occasionally be staying. If you go for a wander I would suggest taking bear spray with you (provided) as we are living in bear country. I walk up there a lot and have never encountered a bear that didn't just run away.
As mentioned before, the driveway is steep so requires 4WD or AWD to get up to the closer parking lot or you can get to the lower parking lot with 2WD and walk 2 minutes up to the house.

I will try to be there upon arrival to the house but it is all pretty straight forward on how everything works. If you do have questions then I am relatively quick to respond to texts or may be close at hand.

The road to the house is steep and requires 4WD or AWD plus a short 2 minute walk to the house. It is definitely worth the effort to get there once you settle in and enjoy the view. If you have a 2WD vehicle you are totally welcome to stay here as well, it is just a 3-4 minute walk up to the house.
- We have 1 cat that may come and visit from time to time. The neighbour is feeding her. She has a cat door so she will come and go as she pleases. There is also a kitty litter under the stairs that she sometimes uses. If you are staying here can you please scoop it out? Thanks:)
I love the outdoors and spend as much time outside either hiking, biking, canoeing and gardening. I also love good music, dancing, yoga, and making good healthy food and having silly fun with my daughter.
When you come stay in our yurt you are staying in a place that we built and called home for 5 years....before we built our house. I still do miss the coziness that the yurt offers. :)
I hope you will come and enjoy it like your own little retreat into stillness.
