Komalakotam Court is comfortable, modern, clean and traditional house which is a rare find in Tricomalee. There are two suites and four rooms - please see our other listing. North Suite has a separate sitting area apart from the bedroom. North Suite has three single beds, lock-up wardrobe, attached private bathroom with toilet, shower and wash basin along with a light-filled seating area without hotwater. You would find a 30 mins plug-on mosquito repellent in each room.
North Suite can accommodate up to 3 guests. It has a single bed in its sitting room which can accommodate the 3rd person. We will provide linen and pillow for the extra person booked.
There is a common dining area with refrigerator, toaster and electric kettle. We also have plates and cutlery for your convenience. You are welcome to use the terrace upstairs and cadjun hut ourside in this resort style accommodation. Please communicate with us if you are looking for parking on site at a nominal cost per day/night as we have limited number of parking.
We could provide a cot for a baby with a net along with a thick plastic bath basin in the bathroom on request.
Guests will have easy access to all around Trincomalee and beyond as this house is located close to (less than 5 mins walk) the Central Bus Station. The time keeper in a little cage like room at the entrance of the Central Bus Station will provide necessary transport information between Trincomalee and anywhere else in Sri Lanka. Trincomalee Railway Station is about 15 mins walk away. One can easily walk to Dutch Bay beach, Fort Frederick and Swami Rock from Komalakotam. Komalakotam is surrounded by many restaurants and cafes. Main shopping area including gold jewellery and banks is about 2 minutes walk away from the house. Highly rated Dutch Bank Cafe in front of Trincomalee Habour is located in a good walking distance from Komalakotam. There are easy access to Nilaveli, Uppuveli and Kanniya hot wells by bus or by privately hired tuk tuk. Transport by Government buses are extremely cost effective. A tuk tuk trip to Nilaveli will cost around rs800 in around 30 mins; Uppuveli will cost rs250 in 10 mins. Tuk tuk accommodates 3 people. Your hosts, Siv and Gow, were born and raised in Trincomalee but have been living between Australia and Srilanka over the last 30 years. Siv is a vibrant and active man with a passion for gardening, movies and music. Gow is a teacher with a kind nature, flair for culture and has many passions for food, people and traveling.
The guest house provides support in the running of charity projects whilst employing and training locals and encouraging local businesses. Gow and Siv are fluent in English and have a fountain of local knowledge on places to go and see as well as the history of the town.

As we are a new establishment, feedback on ways to improve your stay will be much appreciated as we like to make improvement. It is always advisable to carry mosquito repellent as they swam in sometimes depends on the wind direction.
Please turn off air-conditioned and other switches when you are not in the room.
You are kindly reminded about 10:00am check-out time.
Please tightly secure sanitary pads before placing it in the bathroom bin. Some bags are provided inside the bedside cupboard.
Please do not eat on beds. Kindly take care of the linen and the cushions provided.
Please feel free to use the dining table, electric kettle, refrigerator, toaster, cutlery and crockery and leave the place as it was.
Please place the food waste in the bin beside the wash basin in the dining area.
Please lock the doors and the gate when you leave.
Please put the rubbish in the bins provided.
Please keep pressing the toilets until it finishes flushing.
Please make sure our rooms are smoke free and family friendly.
Laundry services can be provided if enough time is given, usually a load or if less than a load then max 25 pieces of washing costs rs1000 and ironing rs1000.
Please note that there is NO key for the middle door separating room and the sitting area (unless requested ) and the entrance door key will not fit in the middle door, which could be lockable from inside.
Parking inside the premises required prebooking as we only could accommodate a limited number of vehicles. It costs $5 per day/night.

Livihood Trincomalee was established in 2016 with the purpose of providing equal access to education, employment and good environment for local people. The guest house provides support in the running of the charity projects whilst employing and training locals and encouraging local businesses. Gow and Siv are in fluent English and have a fountain of local knowledge on places to go and see as well as the history of the town.
