An 1884 Queen Anne Revival Victorian overlooking the city and the river. Master Suite and guest bedroom of a three bedroom home are offered. Rent a whole beautiful home for the price of a moderate hotel room.
Ours is a 2,700 sq ft National Historic Landmark home perched on a near-in Southwest-Portland hillside where you can enjoy the views of the mountains and downtown today and get a glimpse of the past - when the only traffic was horse-drawn.
Condor's View has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979 in recognition of its unique Queen Anne architecture and Italianate out-buildings. It is appointed with decor befitting a Victorian icon - gilded antique Italian mirrors, crystal chandeliers, and enough velvet sofas and chairs to make it hard to conjure a reason to venture anywhere else.
On sunny days you are welcome to take in the cityscape from the broad patio or enjoy our cozy sculpted side yard. The views from anywhere on the property, to the river below and the mountains above, are spectacular no matter what time of year. At night the city sparkles beneath you, and if you are lucky enough to stay during one of Portland's many downtown firework spectacles, you will be treated by an unobstructed view from the front porch.
The master bedroom suite includes a study, large closets, an ensuite bathroom, and a bay window appointed with chairs and table for those moments you want to relax with a book, a cup of coffee or tea, and just watch the slow rise and fall of the aerial tram as it floats by a few blocks away. The second guest bedroom has views of the river and mountains. The third bedroom overlooks the garden and offers a partial view of Mt. Hood.
As you walk up the two flights of stairs to the house you will be cosseted by terraces and a columnated, covered front porch - where you can also take in the view al fresco no matter what the weather.
The surrounding Lair Hill neighborhood is quaint and quiet, yet only 3 minutes by car from the bustle of Downtown. Or if you don't have a car, you can get to the heart of the city in 5 minutes by any of the four bus lines that stop a block away. And the Terwilliger Parkway, Duniway Park and Lair Hill Park are five minutes away on foot.
For those with sensitivities, ours is an allergen-free home with a whole-home water filtration system. Please read the house rules regarding pets, smoking, etc. Thank you and enjoy your stay.
Our house is licensed for Airbnb rentals by the City of Portland, Permit No. (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)-HO - which means the house complies with the City's requirements for smoke and carbon dioxide alarms, as well as fire extinguishers, handrails, and all other required safety features.
You will have the use of the home including the exterior areas which have panoramic views of the city, including the 1,000 sq ft patio as well as a covered 90 sq ft covered front porch. A gas barbecue is available on the back porch.

My husband and I enjoy the arts, fashion business and traveling. In particular we have a huge heart for SE Asia. Our beautiful honeymoon was spent in Bali where we were charmed everyday by the most lovely experiences. We currently have a small but lovely apartment overlooking the Chao Phrya river in Bangkok as most of my business in fashion keeps me there. When we are stateside we live in Oysterville, Washington, and also own a second home in Portland, Oregon.
We are great supporters of the arts and try to see performance as well as exhibits as much as is possible when we travel. Often my business takes me to amazing destinations, as international fashion means international travel as well. My most recent trips have been a month long adventure from that took me and my husband from NYC to London, Milan and Paris to document a fashion week experience.
We're considerate and responsible people who understand the importance of trust in renting your place to those you have never met. Next year we will begin to do the same with our two historic homes, one in the charming historic bay front of Oysterville, Washington, the other a beatiful 100+ year old victorian in Portland,OR which is perched high enough upon a hillside for an outstanding city view. Our homes are filled with precious things so we understand the importance of knowing that those things will be taken care of in our absence.
Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have; as I will do the same. I've used airbnb on many occasions and feel comfortable that the system makes this a wonderful and safe experience.
