Just one exit south from Sun River, this cabin is cozy and quiet, yet convenient to great fishing, kayaking (3 minute walk to the Deschutes River), road biking and, oh right, 40 acres of forest just out the backdoor. It is a 20-25 minute drive to Bend, one exit south from Sun River and a great jumping off spot for numerous adventures or just a great place to lounge after mountain biking or skiing.
The cabin itself is simple, but cozy and comfortable, with all of the basics and a great wood fire stove. (To be clear: I have solid reviews from those who understand that this is a cabin, and I have had some occasional frustration from people who think they have found some inexpensive alternative to the Sunriver Resort or are looking for posh and polished. This is a cabin. Please do not expect what it is not.) There are two built-in beds and a loft for sleeping arrangements, a nice living room/dining area and a simple but stocked kitchen. It is an open space - which is has virtues and vices (virtue is that it is airy and feels spacious; vice that sharing with in-laws may be too much information and lacks privacy). There is not WiFi, as I use the cabin primarily as a writing retreat space, but there is a washer/drier and everything you need to cook up meals and to live comfortably during your stay.
