Our 5,000 sq ft themed basement "The Mancave", is excellent for wedding parties and groups attending conventions, especially a group of bridesmaids or groomsmen!
SLEEPS UP TO 20 people on 8 full-size beds (i.e. 4 bunk-beds) and 2 queen-size sofa-sleepers.
Situated in the heart of downtown St. Louis (walk score of 97) you will be pleased to find a variety of cafes, restaurants, bars, shopping, theaters, and parks just seconds away.
The perfect team or reunion setting.
Book with the confidence that your stay will be even better than a hotel, both in terms of price and quality. Your large group will thank you for finding this listing.
We are proud to report that we have many return groups.
If you're new to Airbnb, this booking will make you a fan. Rest assured that we will make your stay as comfortable as we would want it if we were the guests!
The space is designed with a 'manly man' theme, but without the inebriation and philandering that might be associated with that!
To clarify however, we do not (and legally cannot) supply alcohol in ‘The Mancave’ but you can certainly bring your own - just don't let it get out of hand please!
There is a grocery store on the same block (the Culinaria) in order for you to stock the dry bar and the refrigerator!
'The Mancave' is designed for folks who want to live in a barracks-like adult 'camp'. It's ideal for a group of friends who'd rather not spend $200/night each on a cramped hotel room, and who'd rather hang out together in one big fun space, rather than have to always go out to expensive restaurants and bars. There is a dry-bar area as well as a kitchen, and you can stock both by going to the grocery store (Culinaria) across the street (literally 50 yards away).
This is a spacious basement with many things to do including:
• Foosball, Pool table
• 75" LED Smart TV
• Roku (Netflix, Sling, DIRECTVNow etc)
• Amazon Echo (use your own login)
• Xbox One
• Fast Wi-Fi (500 Mbps)
• Refrigerator with front water and ice-dispenser
• Regular range with oven
• Coffee Maker (Keurig), Toaster
Pop over to the Culinaria grocery store (on the same block as The Mancave) and make yourself a gourmet meal in the fully equipped kitchen.
Sleeping Arrangements (Up to 20 guests can stay in The Mancave):
4 full-over-full-size bunk-beds (i.e. 8 full-size mattresses)
2 queen-size sofa-beds
Let us know if you need a Pack'N'Play for a small child, and we'll make it happen.
The Bathrooms (There are two 'locker rooms', one designated for women and one for men, but those are just labels!):
The 'Women's locker room' includes 2 private showers, 2 private toilets, and a dressing area (with hair-dryers) for make-up and all that stuff that the girls do. (This paragraph is written by a man).
The 'Men's locker room' isn't as pretty but it's fully operational like a Death Star; it includes 3 communal "rugby showers" separated just by curtains; there's 1 urinal, and 1 private toilet.
Obviously, your group can decide who uses what locker room etc. but towel fights are somewhat frowned upon.
Guests have 24/7 access to the entire basement known as "The Mancave", but you strictly have to check-in on the first day ideally before 7pm if a weekday, or before 5pm if Saturday or Sunday.
There are certain areas of the basement which are locked, because they're for access to utilities, the elevator shaft, IT wiring and other things that you [hopefully] wouldn't be terribly interested in; basically places you don't need to go.
You may wish to also know that there's no gas supply used in the building - it's all electric, and that radon testing has been done. The basement is very safe and secure.
We highly recommend that you read all the reviews from previous groups of guests before you book, but please do contact us if you have any questions about anything. Our goal is to make your visit so spectacular that you'll never think of staying in a hotel again.
Общение с гостями
I and/or my associates (Laura, Pam, Howard, Amanda and Amanda) are 100% reachable 24/7 to answer any questions you may have, make you feel comfortable getting in and out of the city, and provide a smooth check-in/check-out experience.
Our goal is to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible and frankly, that you'll wish to recommend the Mancave to other good people!
We love Downtown St. Louis and we love to show it off. It's our goal that you have a fabulous stay here.
Другие важные подробности
We will ensure that you have sufficient towels, sheets, toilet paper and soap for the number of people you've stated will be in your party.
We know and we fully understand that you 'gotta party', but well, you know what I mean............please just be sensible about it... (This is one reason for the higher than average security deposit that you give Airbnb, which is of course fully refunded if there are no issues).
You can certainly park at the meters on the street, which are free after 7pm (until 7am the next day) and all day Sunday as well as on holidays.
You can also park in one of the nearby surface parking lots.
There is actually an open surface lot to the rear of the building, which is even more convenient, and many of our guests use that too.
To clarify, please note that booking The Mancave alone, does NOT include any kind of parking whatsoever.
On a rainy or otherwise bad weather day, if your plans get cancelled, ask your host about getting discounted access to The DEN ((URL HIDDEN) a private members' club Downtown where you can use the golf simulator, play Bocce Ball, shuffleboard, chess, scrabble, or just lounge around.
The Durmstrang Institute for Magical Learning (German: Durmstrang-Institut für Zauberei) is a magic school that also makes its first appearance in Goblet of Fire. The school has existed for at least 700 years, when they began participating in the Triwizard Tournament. Dumbledore welcomes Durmstrang's students as "our friends from the North". Durmstrang students wear heavy furs with blood-red robes. The students of Durmstrang mentioned by name are Russians and Bulgarians. Durmstrang is portrayed as an all-boys school in the film, but according to the book, it is co-ed. Several female students are mentioned, though not by name.
Durmstrang is known for placing an emphasis on the study of the Dark Arts. While other schools of magic in the series limit the study to Defence Against the Dark Arts, Durmstrang students actually learn them. In Deathly Hallows, it is revealed that the Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald attended Durmstrang. He also carved the symbol of the Deathly Hallows onto the school's stone walls. Although Durmstrang teaches the Dark Arts as part of its curriculum, apparently the experiments performed by Grindelwald were considered too extreme even by the school's standards as he was expelled because of them.
The name "Durmstrang" is likely to be an allusion to the German phrase Sturm und Drang meaning storm and stress.
NO LOUD MUSIC OR NOISE BETWEEN 6AM AND 8PM WEEKDAYS, OR BETWEEN 8AM AND 6PM WEEKENDS. There is an urgent care center right about the Mancave, so we need to keep it quiet for any patients that might be up there.
No parties with > 50 people in attendance.
Please note that you will hear some noise and footsteps above your ceiling, as the urgent care clinic opens every morning, 7am on weekdays and 9am on weekends. The clinic is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day, so you shouldn't hear anything on those mornings.
No kegs or excess alcohol please. Yes, it's a 'Man Cave' but it's also intended to be a nice place to stay (not 'a great place to trash').
Check-in is STRICTLY between 1pm and 7pm weekdays, or between 1pm and 5pm on Saturday/Sunday - early or late check-in is available but only upon request and if it doesn't clash with other guests and only if we have enough time to clean the place between reservations!
Check-out is before 10AM - late check-out is certainly available, but only upon request and if the next booking hasn't already requested an early check-in and only if we have enough time to clean the place between reservations!
No pets please.
Parties (meaning loud noise) are fine after 7.30pm.
When you leave:
Please leave the TV remotes by the TVs;
Please load the dishwasher if you use dishes, clean up before you leave, don't leave food out in the open. Keep it chill. (If possible, please wash the dishes and/or load the dishwasher);
If you have a minute, please strip the bed and leave the sheets on it, ready to throw in the wash.
Finally, PLEASE DO NOT SMOKE. NOT TOBACCO OR ANYTHING ELSE while you're on the property. The smell is very easily spread to the clinic right above.
Please treat my things with respect, and we shouldn't have any problems. Enjoy!
