I welcome you to stay at my home in SE Portland, Oregon! This is a second floor, one bedroom apartment, one of three apartments in a two-storey house built in 1890. This neighborhood is residential with lots of giant trees and lush yards, a few minutes' walk to bars, shops, and public transportation.
The apartment is always professionally cleaned just before guests' arrival, and sheets and linens are fresh/sanitized.
The apartment is upstairs. It includes one bedroom, a bathroom entered through the bedroom, a living room, a dining room, and a galley style kitchen. Floors are wood, with linoleum in the bathroom and kitchen.
The bedroom includes a queen sized bed, with a recently purchased memory foam mattress, a nightstand and lamp, a dresser for your use, and some space to hang clothes in the closet.
The living room includes a loveseat and comfortable arm chair, as well as a new tv (with basic channels, as well as netflix, hulu, amazon, etc), books, games, magazines, etc. A roll top desk provides space for writing.
The dining room has a small table that seats four people, as well as another small desk.
The kitchen is stocked with a french press coffee pot, microwave, full stove, oven, refrigerator/freezer, and all the basics (pots, pans, dishes, utensils). You are welcome to use whatever is there, including any spices, oils, or other food items.
Bath towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and a hair dryer are all provided. An iron and ironing board are available.
A small, friendly dog lives in the apartment across the hall. You will likely not see or hear him, but if you are allergic you may want to know. A family with young child lives downstairs, so please feel comfortable to have a good time and play music if you like, just be reasonable about it.
Please note, this is an old house (built in 1890); it has character. The yard is of the wild and free type, but it is large, lush and friendly. I repainted the apartment recently, and it is clean with nice light, wood floors and high ceilings. Note that some apartment windows are from the 1890s, and the common entrance carpet is worn.
Please note that the apartment is on the second floor of an old house, so no elevator. Also, the bathtub has a high threshold to step over (about 18").
UPDATE APRIL 2017 - repainted the bathroom and common entrance and hallway! Updated pictures will be posted soon.
This is my home and I rent out it while I am away; you are welcome to use anything in the apartment. Please make yourself at home.
Общение с гостями
I will most likely be out of town while you are staying (you will always have the place to yourself), but I will be available by phone and online for anything you need.
I've lived in Portland for 10 years and I've been a regular visitor for the past twenty years. I'll be glad to offer suggestions about the neighborhood, the city, etc.
Другие важные подробности
If you want to stay a day that is blocked off after September, please write. My schedule is fairly flexible and the place will likely be available.
There is plentiful car parking on the street. If you have bikes you can carry them upstairs to the apartment or make arrangements with me to store them in the basement.
Up to two people can stay at one time.
Before leaving, please wash the dishes. I'll take care of cleaning and washing bedding, towels, etc!
No smoking anything inside. Feel free to smoke whatever you like outside.
No parties or extra guests allowed in the building or apartment. Have a great time, but please respect that other people live across the hall and downstairs. They are aware that renters stay at the apartment. Regular level music and conversation doesn't seem to carry through the spaces, so just be reasonable and all will be well!
Please be aware that this is an old house, built in 1890. The apartment is recently repainted and is always professionally cleaned before your visit, but the building has the character of an old house and the outside of the building is in need of some updates.
A $25 replacement fee will be charged for lost keys.
