I would happily stay here again, because all things said and done, this is a heck of a bang-for-your-buck rental property. It's a furnished apartment in a rental building that Samuel said he manages but doesn't own. The apartment, as such, lacks all those 'little touches' you tend to find in airbnb's the renter has actually lived in. That said, it's kind of hard to be hyper-critical about a full studio apartment for $29.50/night (US). It is located walking distance (about a mile maximum) from pretty much all the tourist places you'd want to go to while in town, and only about 3 blocks from the metro (if you're not a walker). While my 41 night stay started off with a few hickups (When I arrived at 1am the room was stiflingly hot -- I drove in from Baltimore -- and it took the tiny aircon a good 4 hours to cool it to sleep-able temps; one of the two cereal bowls was unusable, it had a massive crack; the kitchen had four items requiring electricity that had to share two electric plugs -- and this included the fridge & microwave; the refrigerator broke down and had to be replaced after about a week, etc). HOWEVER, Samuel and his team of employees were actually VERY good at living up to their end of the deal and addressing these problems quickly -- usually within a few hours. The building is OLD, like 1920's old, and the interior was a bit off-putting at first (it's best described as a utilitarian yellowish/grey), but the rental itself although basic was comfortable, very clean, and had pretty much everything you'd need... with the exception of dish towels and/or hot pads (I ended up using a bath towel). Be warned, the building was built in the 1920's, so the bathroom meets UK building codes and the brits do NOT, I repeat DO NOT allow electric plugs in bathrooms. The oven is so old that the numbers on the heat dial are completely worn off (like I said, 41 nights, so I cooked). Also, there were broken tiles in the kitchen, that when I pointed them out to his janitor (as he was replacing my fridge) he just shrugged ... and while there is love seat that a small child could sleep on -- if you had one, its so dusty that I do not suggest it.
