WELCOME! Away from the hassles of city life, this space offers a tranquil retreat for independent nature lovers. Only a short walk from the "cabin" (which is actually a 950 square foot double wide trailer) , the Nisqually river is the best part of being here-it is constantly changing daily and a treasure. Experienced kayakers, can put in from our land and take out in McKenna. There are miles to explore with the NISQUALLY LAND TRUST adjacent to our land and the birds around here are amazing.
If you are anticipating a fancy Hilton you will be disappointed but if you value nature and are OK with simplicity, you will be pleased. You can take a short walk on our trail through the woods from your large "cabin" to the pristine Nisqually River. There you can make a small fire and relax as you watch the river flow by and the birds as they choose to visit. Since you can not force wildlife to show up "on cue" you never know just what you will see. Early morning or dusk is the best show. If you do a tube search for SUE MCGOWAN GOATS you can watch my pet small goats playing at the river.
You will have the entire 950 square feet of living space to yourselves. There is a kitchen with a two burner cook surface, a toaster oven, 18 cu. ft. refrigerator, Keurig coffee maker with a variety of pods, microwave, toaster, basic dishes, dining room , large living room ,two bedrooms one with 2 twins and the other with one twin, lots of closet space, one bathroom (with a really ugly tub/shower but it is functional) , and lots of nature. Fire pit near the cabin as well as a safe place for fire at the river.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE YOUR CELL and Wifi MOST LIKELY WILL NOT WORK AT THE "cabin" but will do just fine at our gazebo which is a 40 second walk away.

We love to help people and will be available, but will not hover over you. You will be responsible for your own meals unless I happen to have the day off of work (I'm a Registered Nurse) and happen to be cooking anyhow.
Другие важные подробности
No smoking (of anything) :) When you book, we will send you specific directions. 95%of the time your GPS will work perfectly to get you here, but I don't want to take that chance. You will NOT have good cell coverage the last few miles of your trip or the "cabin", but you can access Wi-Fi and our phones in our home which is a 1 minute walk from the cabin.
If you have persevered enough to read through this far, I can let you know if you would like to work for wages while you are here there is ALWAYS something that needs to be done on the trails, garden, etc... However, this would be contract labor at your own risk.
- Geared toward independent nature lovers. Strictly Non-smoking (of anything) There are abundant amazing birds and you are most welcome to come to our adjacent home courtyard to observe many species of birds that frequent our feeders. Our gazebo is a shared space with good wi-fi access. If you are confident of the behaviour of your children, we can accommodate them but there are hazards inherent in outdoor spaces that we can not be responsible for. Anyone could very well get lost if you wandered off trail too far.
Our "kids" are small goats and lots of fun. They love to go with you on the short trail to the river where you can sit and enjoy a campfire as you watch for eagles, kingfishers, sand pipers, herons, geese, and ducks. This is not a fancy place but we have put a lot of effort and money into making it a place to share. You can help us make it better!
