My home can accommodate up to three couples or a family of similar size. There are 3 bedrooms and 3 full baths. A fourth bedroom, part of the maid’s suit, has been converted into a home office. The desk space in this room is available for use by the guests. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and an attached bath. The other two bedrooms have queen-sized beds, one of which has a tempur-pedic mattress. Between these two bedrooms is a sharable full bath. If necessary, the guests may use the third bathroom, which is accessible through the home office.
Wi-Fi, TV, washer, dryer, kitchen appliances and other items of everyday use are available and are in excellent condition. A landline as well as a cell phone is available for your convenience. Please use these for local calls only.
The apartment comes with an outdoor parking space inside the building which fits 2 small cars.
The apartment is large, 1900+ square feet (177 square meters), sunny and bright and is located on the 6th floor of an 8-story building. Windows in the living room as well as in the bedrooms offer an almost 360-degree view of the city and its landmarks. The building is gated and watched by friendly guards 24/7, who are available to help whenever you need them via an intercom. The apartment is accessible via an elevator as well as via stairs.
The apartment is walking distance from the historical part of Cuenca. It is located on the Tomebamba River, one of four rivers of Cuenca and the one that is closest to the historical section.
Walk less than 5 minutes from the apartment to cross the river and reach the historical section. Walk up a flight of stairs to the eastern section of Calle Larga. This street contains quite a few sites that are popular with visitors. On the one end are the Pumapungo Ruins—visible from the apartment as well—while on the other end there is a typical Ecuadorian market, the Mercado 10 De Agosto. In between are some of the best cafes and restaurants in town. Another 10-minute walk through the well-preserved historical section will take you to the center of old town, called the Parque Calderon.
A number of other facilities such as the parks, Parque Paraiso and Parque de la Madre, health clinics such as Clinica Santa Ana and Clinica Paucarbamba, a small Mall called Millenium Plaza and the grocery store Supermaxi are within 10 to 15 minutes walk from the apartment. For longer rides you can take buses, 7, 15 and 2 that stop three doors up from the building. You may also wave down a taxi from right in front of the apartment!
Guests will be able to use the whole apartment. Nothing in the apartment is off limits. I would like you to feel at home as if it were your own place.
