Blending creams and beige, terracotta, cedar wood, plaster effects (tadelakt) all of which sympathetically harmonise without attempting a bold-statement. “Old Palace”, style, is a tall order for any designer and very hard to achieve, or at least, pass-off as authentic.
“Riad Laksiba feels centuries old.
Riad Laksiba looks, feels and is… totally authentic”…
Beautiful hand carved arches and columns, in sable-de-la-mer and tadelakt, influenced by the Kasbah Mosque and the Saadian Tombs. Solid Cedarwood doors and windows with hand carved Berber motifs. Quiet salon areas outside four of the five en-suite bedrooms to give guests quite individual space to enjoy sumptuous breakfasts, mint tea, discuss the world, keep in touch through the Riad’s free wifi or relax and read one of the many books and novels scattered around.
Complimentary Mint Tea
Complimentary “Shisha Pipe”
Well-appointed, un-fussy, bedrooms with polished cream plaster walls, terracotta floors, and ethnic rugs; all enjoying the modern comfort of Air-conditioning and en-suite wet-room, good pressure, showers. When you Arrive at Marrakech Airport and clear Customs you'll go through to Luggage Collection Area. Opposite the Carousels you'll notice a Bureau de Change.
Unlike Money Exchanges in UK Airports the Bureau de Changes at Marrakech Airport are very competitive.
If there is a queue then there is another Bureau de Change in the Arrivals Hall.
You may wish to change money for your first days adventures and evening out (meal and wine etc.) If both Bureau de Changes have got queue's then do not worry, Adil or Abdelhamid, can direct you to Hotel Ali at the main square who also offer competitive rates.
When you have collected your luggage you will go through to the Arrivals Hall.
In the Arrivals Hall please make yourself known to Riad Laksiba's representatives. He will be holding a "Laksiba sign" to help you identify him.
Our Representative will assist you with your luggage and escort you to your awaiting vehicle and Chauffeur.
Depending on how adventurous you feel; you could eat across the range .... from street food to fine dining with a Budget Range for all pockets.
Locally: I would suggest Kosy Bar, La Tangia, Les Borjs de la Kasbah or Les Jardins de la Medina for restaurant dining, with wine, which are within reasonable walking distance. Should you wish to sample street food then one of our staff can walk you along the Route de la Kasbah when there is are great street cafes, (local ones..... no alcohol but BBQ style chicken, kefta (mince on a skewer), lamb kebabs, chicken kebabs, tomato salsa, chopped onion, bread and coke/fanta/water etc. Also the nice "Kasbah Cafe" opposite the Kasbah Mosque and the entrance to the Saadian Tombs and the newly opened "Cafe Clock" is the nearest and proving to be very popular (my favorite).
Naturally you could go to the Main Square (Jemaa el Fna) to eat if you are feeling particularly adventurous and are confident with your sense of direction for returning to Riad Laksiba. Again a staff member will be happy to escort you and point out a few Land-Marks en-route to assist your return journey.
Failing the above you can always elect to eat "home cooking" at Riad Laksiba. (£15/head/3-courses) Simply tell Adil if you would like to eat-in any evening (Lamb, Chicken, Fish, Vegetarian) or advise me prior to arrival, or any morning whilst with us, as we purchase fresh. We also have wines/beer/soft drinks at less than half local restaurant prices. (Something you may wish to consider on your first evening?)
REF: Home Cookery Introduction: You can do this on any morning during your stay. Understanding how to prepare a new Tagine Pot and subsequently how to prepare the vegetables, herbs, spices and meat etc. is a great skill that you can take home with you and practice on friends and family. It normally only takes an hour or so, the rest of the day is your own and in the evening the produce of your introduction is served to you as your evening meal. £15/head/3-courses. Swallowed down with wine/beer/soft drinks at half the cost of local restaurants.
I hope you are now getting excited about your adventures in Marrakech.

My Career has been predominantly focused on obtaining "White Elephants" and attempting to paint them Grey !!
Renovation, Restoration, Conservation is a juggling act full of contradictions and compromise.
Thus it is my role to ascertain the best route to produce an outcome that meets expectation.
My preference is always Conservation of what is original, followed by the Restoration of what can be salvaged and finally Renovation, to improve subterranean and surface services, affording the property to meet modern living environments.
Needless to say... a fascinating vocation in life; with very tangible results to reflect on after each event.
So.. Please look after my house when you visit as it is very precious to me !!
