I cannot say enough good things about this home! We absolutely loved our stay here. There were three of us here, part of a larger group on the island for a family gathering. Most of the family stayed at resorts in Playa las Americas, but we chose Margarita's house. We made the right choice!
The house is beautifully designed and well furnished with a mix of old and new, all in great taste (photos are all very accurate). We cooked breakfast daily in the well-designed kitchen, and one night made dinner for 9, so the kitchen is great for cooking and has ample supplies. The house doesn't have air conditioning, but there were three fans provided which, with the windows open, made the house very comfortable. We were able to travel very light since there is a washing machine on premise, and the clothes would dry hanging overnight. The large balcony and terraces were the stars of the place----we spent as much time outside as we did in. Also, the view from the terraces is amazing---you can see Los Christianos/Las Americas, the ocean, the neighboring island, and incredible sunsets.
As for location, the house is very easy to get to, and takes about 20 minutes from the south airport. The area where our family was staying, Las Americas, was a 10 minute drive on the freeway, so despite our being out where it is quiet and away from the tourists, we were only a few minutes away from meeting up with them and the hustle and bustle of the more populated areas. Just down the road a few minutes are two large grocery stores and other commercial needs (gas stations, shopping, restaurants), and the little town of Los Menores just north of the house has several great places to eat that are patronized primarily by locals and not tourists.
The area is safe and quiet, despite having the freeway just below and another main road just behind. We slept each night with most of the windows open. The house is part of a triplex, but we rarely heard or saw any neighbors despite their close proximity. The triplex is gated, so access is restricted.
The night we had the family up for dinner, they were all envious of the choice we had made compared to their choice to stay in the more touristy areas. One word of note---you will want a car to stay here, and use the home as a base to get out and explore the many beautiful areas of the island.
For the price we paid for this wonderful home, we feel that we got a wonderful value for our money. Thank you Margarita!
