Our light-filled first floor bedroom w/ full bath offers views of the woods in a pretty country setting. Featuring a new queen bed, writing table and small refrigerator, the Provence Room is serene, pretty and just five minutes drive to downtown!
The Provence Room is a private bedroom with adjacent full bath. The bathroom will generally be for your private use, the only exception being on busy weekends when it may be shared with our other single guest room (only if occupied).The Provence Room is a large, lofty room newly upgraded with a queen bed, luxury linens, writing table and chair and small convenience refrigerator. This is a spacious room in a custom country French style with lots of light! The bathroom offers an oval bathtub and rain shower. The house is on its own sparkling well with clear, beautiful water, and we have central air conditioning, satellite tv and wi-fi (although because of satellite imposed data caps, we ask that our guests refrain from any streaming of content).
This private guest room is on a separate floor from your hosts. It is sunny, with multiple windows, queen bed, wood floors and French country furniture for a restful stay.
Please note: We like longer-term guests and offer a discount for stays of 7 days or more. If you are considering an even longer period, please do contact us about special pricing that may be available.
Our home is situated off a private road in a forested area where beautiful red fir and pines abound! We have high-speed wireless and premium channels -- a rarity in this rural area. Lovely big wood burning fireplace in the great room for chilly nights and many good books you can browse off our shelves.
Our neighborhood is the quaint Old Stage Road, a picturesque rustic way that was the old stage coach route in the last century. Orchards and ranches are scattered throughout this idyllic area. We are on 2.5 acres, at the end of a private road, and you can enjoy sitting out on our wooden decks listening to the birds and watching deer walk through the woods. In the summer, we have umbrellas and tables set up for your enjoyment!
Our place offers an oasis of tranquility. My partner is a part-time plein air painter and an avid hiker. I manage an art gallery in Dunsmuir, lead hikes and am also a pastry chef. We would be happy to suggests walks and rambles in our beautiful mountain town. We enjoy chatting with our guests and would love to show you all our favorite spots!
We offer premium British and Asian teas and use of a European Nespresso machine for coffee. We also have a kettle, toaster and microwave for your luse. As a general rule, we do not offer full kitchen use to guests for making entire meals. You are very welcome to set up your own food/meals brought from the store on the tables on the outside decks. We have front and back porches and two fire pits -- perfect for summery nights and star-gazing! We will have a small grill for your use after the beginning of June.
A cooked breakfast can be provided for guests by prior arrangement in the mornings for $10 per person.. A salad or sandwich lunch can be provided by prior arrangement for $10 per person. For dinner, vegetarian pizza dinner can be provided for $12 per person.
You have full access to the great room/living room, where there is a fireplace and a flat screen tv. We also have many books you are welcome to browse!
For laundry, there is a nice laundromat in town that is inexpensive and perfect for those on holiday; ask us and we will be happy to give you directions. Otherwise, if you would like a load of laundry to be done at the house, we can do that for you for $9.00 wash and dry per load.
For those guests without cars, we can arrange pick up and some driving services for a reasonable fee. Beginning in June, we will also offer hiking, plein air painting and sacred site half-day or whole day tours. Please inquire and will be happy to set up arrangements that meet your needs.

You can chose to take time for yourself and keep interaction to a minimum, or we can be on hand to chat over coffee, a glass of wine at night, or by the fire pit outside. It is totally up to you as our guest!

We are avid hikers and can tell you about all the area trails and supply maps! If you would like to be led on a trail hike or to see the sacred sights, this can be arranged with us with advance notice and additional fee.
No smoking in the house, and please remove shoes before entering. Neighbors appreciate it if you can please drive very slowly (5mph) on our small, private road. Quiet hours generally after 11:00 pm. Otherwise, just enjoy yourself!
