Другие важные подробности
Tawan Beds & Bikes used to be a famous motorbike rental shop in Chiang Mai called Tawan Motors, before expanding to include accommodation for guests and becoming Tawan B&B.
The shop was recognized as ‘Brother Joe’s Shop’ by locals during its initial years due to the popularity of Joe and his big bikes. Tourists would flock from all over to come and ride Joe’s bikes and meet him in person.
Joe was born in Bangkok, where he studied during his high school years before moving to Chiang Mai in 1986 with his parents. He started off selling jeans at the famous Chiang Mai Night Bazar, right across Ton Lum Yai Market before opening his own motorbike shop. He became fascinated with import motorbikes such as Harley Davidsons, Off-Road Yamahas and Triumphs and partnered with a friend to import and sell them second hand to enthusiasts in Chiang Mai.
For their store front Joe chose this building, because it was close to the Sang Tawan Cinema (Sunshine Cinema) which is now sadly closed but is still standing as a historical landmark. After 30 years he finally had enough money to buy the shop and convert it into his dream guesthouse.
Today, we graciously invite you to stay at the beautifully renovated Tawan Beds & Bikes. This has been a true labor of love for Joe and his family, who put many years of hard work into creating a comfortable place for travelers who are looking for a place to stay in a historic and wonderful part of Chiang Mai!
We hope you have a wonderful stay with us.
