One bedroom (queen bed) on the 10th floor of the beautiful luxury Bellagio apartments. Right in the heart of the entertainment district (Courtenay Place), two minutes to the Cuba Quarter and five minutes to the beautiful waterfront and Te Papa.
Our 10th floor apartment is as central as you can get, with the Waterfront and Te Papa only a stones throw away. The living room, dining area and kitchen have ceiling to floor windows with loads of afternoon sun. It is a recent build with excellent earthquake strengthening. We are steps away from Courtenay Place and Cuba Street, with Lambton Quay a mere five to ten minutes walk.
Our apartment has two spacious bedrooms, one bathroom (with a large shower and a separate bath) and a living room, dining area and spacious modern kitchen. Double glazing so you hear little street noise, though will naturally hear some street noise and noise from the bars on a Friday and Saturday night with windows open given we are downtown. The place is also warm due to the double glazing (though we have electric blankets and a heater if needed).
Our apartment is above all the other buildings nearby, with a spacious NW facing balcony off the living area that is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine or a beer and watch the sun set over the hill!
Guests are more than welcome to watch TV, hang in the lounge, set up at the table or pull up a stool at the kitchen bench. Our fully equipped kitchen has all the appliances and tools you need to cook a meal, and Moore Wilsons and Chaffers New World are both within five minutes walk. You are more than welcome to help yourself to staples such as herbs, sauces, oil, salt and pepper etc.
There are amazing cafes and restaurants nearby, but if you don't feel like wondering outside, or want to relax on the balcony looking out at Kelburn, we have a range of teas, plunger coffee and we provide breakfast basics (toast, spreads, muesli, milk (and often a non-dairy milk too)). We have WIFI and can provide you with the password for that.
We also have a laundry closet with a full-sized top loading washing machine and detergents available for your (reasonable) use.
Our intercom doesn't work, so if one of us aren't downstairs when you first arrive, or you ever get locked out, you will need to be in touch with us via text, phone or the Airbnb app.
Общение с гостями
We are both expats who have now called Wellington home, and are happy to give advice about Wellington or NZ more generally. We can work long hours during the week, and often run or gym before work (so may often leave at 7am - if you are a light sleeper you may hear us, but we try to get ready quickly and quietly!). At least one of us will often be home for dinner during the week, though we also may be out all evening - it all depends on what we have on that week.
If we are around, we're generally happy to trade stories and give you tips or ideas for things to do. If you'd rather keep to yourself in the privacy of your own room, that's all good too.
Другие важные подробности
We live in a secure building and so access to the building and to the floor itself is by swipe card access only, and we only have one to lend to guests during their stay.
As we are on a busy road, and near a few bars, there is some street noise at times. On a Friday or Saturday night (or a very odd Wednesday night), you may be able to hear some music from the neighbouring bar late at night, but the lyrics are rarely discernible). However the windows are all double glazed and we are on the 10th floor and not directly on Courtenay place itself (where bars are located) so provided the windows are closed, the noise is minimal.
Please don't lose the building key and swipe card, both are expensive to replace and we will ask for you to cover the cost of replacement if it is lost during your stay!
For security reasons, we ask that you always lock the apartment door. Whether you are going out or coming home.
Since we'll be sharing the home, we don't allow you to bring guests home, but there are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurant nearby to meet up with them!
If you set the fire alarm off, there is a switch near the front door to turn it off. However, if you don't clear the smoke/fire in the next four minutes, the alarm goes off again and the Fire Station is called, and which costs approximately $1,500. So please be careful. If you do set the fire alarm off, open windows to clear the smoke as soon as possible. Don't open the front door to the hallway as that lets the smoke out into the corridor, which results in the fire brigade being called automatically, and the entire building evacuating.
If you use the kitchen, please ensure you leave it as you found it and wash your dishes/clean up after yourself. We use the dishwasher to dry dishes only, so please do not put dirty dishes in there.
We are both expats who now call Wellington home. Jen is originally from the US and Rob is from the UK. We are both young professionals and work in downtown Wellington. We both love to travel, in NZ and internationally, and love good food, great wine and local craft beer. Jen is an avid runner and can give great tips on running or walking tracks around the city.
