Feel a million miles away, in this self-contained, cozy cabin set amongst the gums and abundant birdlife of Frog Hollow, yet take a 5 minute stroll to the cafes and restaurants of Blackheath. Comfy double bed, bathroom, kitchenette & private patio.
Frog Hollow is the location of the original vegetable gardens for the blackheath convict stockade (circa 1840). Although nothing remains, the gulley is flat and fertile and is often visited by kangaroos in the early morning. Our half acre block is surrounded by tall gums that catch the afternoon sun and sway with rosellas, king parrots and sometimes black cockatoos. Feel free to roll out a picnic rug. Our small planted garden is a bit rambly and has five ancient apple trees which burst with blossoms in the spring, bringing the satin bowerbirds and silver eyes with them. At night you can listen to frog song drifting from the marsh nearby. The space really is tranquil. Our little house is well over 100 years old and is painted yellow, ochre red and grey to reflect the sandstone cliffs of the Blue Mountains, we truly love our home. The cabin sits out the back. It is one room and reminiscent of a train carriage or gypsy wagon, with its curved roof and long layout. The space comfortably fits two but a fold out 'click clack' couch can fit another if need be. A private patio out the side looks up the bush block next to us. We hope you relax and take in your surroundings. There are board games and cards in the unit and possibly a tv (when we can figure out the cable). Otherwise, snuggle in the comfy bed with a book and watch the trees sway out the window!
The cabin is self contained with its own little deck and private side patio and is easily accessed behind the main house. Visitors are free to enjoy the spacious back garden.

Although I love to welcome guests when I can, I have local commitments at times and this may not always be possible. However, I will ensure that entry to the accommodation goes smoothly and will make your stay as comfortable as possible. I respect guests privacy but am happy to have a chat if I'm out and about in the garden. In the accommodation you will find a booklet of information on local attractions and dining etc. I am happy to field any questions you may have but for the most part I will allow you to enjoy the tranquility of Frog Hollow.

As we live in a gully, there is a steepish driveway, which is fine for 2WD but just something to note if planning on walking in and out and have mobility or health issues.
No smoking indoors, no loud noise after 9pm, if anyone will be visiting you at the property, please check with me first. Thank you
Hello there. My name is Lindy and I've lived in the mountains for nearly 30 years. Like many others who live here I am a Sydney "escapee"; my husband and I choosing to raise our two (now grown) children in these beautiful surroundings and slower pace of life. I've worked for many years in the Welfare field both near by and in Sydney but now have the good fortune to work in my home town. I enjoy being in the garden, walking, (with and without my dog) messing around with paint and clay and numerous other things -- when I have time! My heart is always with my family -- where ever they may be and what ever adventures they might be having and one of my own long standing goals is to travel to India to experience her hum and beauty!
I'll make you welcome to my own little piece of the mountains and ensure you are warm and snug in the cabin. I can help out with local knowledge and advice but will not intrude on your space and time. Its your choice to either use it as a base for your walks and dining experiences or just stay put, rest and soak up some of the peace and quiet we are surrounded by.
