Jim and Michele have lived in Arizona for 35 years and in the deserts of North Scottsdale for over 20 of those years on our 2.5 acre ranch, Rancho de Hierro, which means Iron Ranch. We named our place Rancho de Hierro because of the huge and very old Ironwood tree that has been growing here long before we were.
Before retiring, we rode and bred American Paint & Quarter Horses. We had 11 horses here at one time, from our stallion and mares to 8 offspring. Horses are like potato chips, you can't just have one. We truly love horses. They bring a peacefulness to human lives.
Since downsizing and retiring, we now enjoy each beautiful day in the desert. The natural landscapes, the amazing sunsets, and the peaceful living never cease to amaze us. We decided to open up our Guest House and hope our guests will enjoy our desert as much as we do. Funny that we live in the desert and also love Hawaii and one day home to get back there again.
