This home was in a very convenient location with the beach only 6 houses away, groceries right around the corner and several places to eat at. The highway was also very close which made it easy to get to Dallas Cowboys camp (15 min.), Santa Barbara (30 min.) and Six Flags Magic Mountain (1 hr.).
The home was very neat and had all the amenities of home. The beds were comfortable and Erin had plenty of towels and beach towels available. The gas stove worked quite well and she had all the necessary cooking utensils to make do for the week. There was also some left over cooking supplies which kept down on what all we needed to purchase from the grocery store (Vonn's which is Tom Thumb/Safeway for you non-Californians).
On another note, Erin was kind enough to let us use her boogie boards which turned out to be a fan fave of the kiddos. We had brought some boogie boards but our kids had outgrown them which made it a nice surprise that Erin had hers available for use. She also had plenty of beach toys to use as well as beach chairs. We used the wagon to cart everything down to the short walk to the beach. Lastly, there was a lifeguard on duty which helped ease any concerns for my wife with us boys enjoying the water.
The only negative would be the cable wasn't in HD, although the Roku (did have an Olympics app) & Netflix (movies) were. The cable was only a big deal to me because the Dallas Cowboys were playing. We decided to go to the beach instead, which is what were were there for anyways, and I tried to catch the game later. That didn't work out too well because their wasn't an internet option on the Roku system that would allow me to access my Slingbox to watch the game. I ended up using the Wifi to watch the game on my Mac. Of course, if I would've remembered to bring my connectors, I could've connected my Mac to the TV but all is well.
To sum everything up, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat especially considering I wasn't here to watch TV but for a family vacation. The closeness to the beach allowed us to enjoy the beach in the AM, come in for lunch and then go to the beach again in the PM. The neighborhood also felt very safe.
