Welcome to the Lake! Our gorgeous and spacious private home sits on the shores of Loon Lake, on a plot that's been in our family for 100 years. 40 min NW of Green Bay, the lake is big enough for waterskiing and sailing, but never gets too wavy--ideal for kayaking and fishing. Water is warm, the bottom is sandy and weeds are minimal. Great for summer and off-season rental (fall colors, Packer games, polar bear swims for the brave)! Only 2 night minimum in off-season & reduced rates.
Our lake house has 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. A large bunk room upstairs sleeps 5: 2 bunks and a single bed. Great for kids! The second is a suite, with 2 queen beds and bathroom (shower). A second bathroom with a jacuzzi tub is also on the upstairs floor.
Downstairs, you’ll find a large lake front bedroom with a king sized bed. The second and smaller bedroom offers a queen sized bed, plus a single that is tucked away in a nook, making it a great room for parents to share with toddler who wants to stay close. The downstairs bathroom is complete with 2 sinks and shower. Porches on both levels are completely weather proof.
Our house is unique with a complete kitchen on each floor. Enjoy your BBQ on the lakeside lawn (2 gas grills and portable tables/chairs and picnic table provided) and use the downstairs kitchen for easy clean up. Or, enjoy the bird’s eye view of the lake and creek from the upper kitchen. Dishwashers on both levels means no need to haul dishes.
Each floor has a large living space, equipped with a 4K smart TV and dining area.
A washer and dryer are provided on first floor.
Enjoy the serenity of the water and amazing sunsets from our private dock. We currently provide a canoe and a 4 person paddle boat for your use. Bring or rent a boat (our manager can make arrangements for you), and enjoy great fishing, water skiing, tubing, kayaking, and canoeing around Loon Lake island. Be sure to watch for the eagles, osprey, and loons. If your boat is small, take an adventure down the creek in the backyard. A 30 minute canoe or kayak will get you to Washington Lake and then on to Shawano Lake. If you’re feeling courageous you can get all the way to the Wolf River! No boat? No worries. Fishing along the creek is good and bass and bluegills are known to hide in the shoreline and under the dock.
Don’t forget the s’mores! There’s a fire pit for campfires, sandbox with toys for the kiddos, and hammocks for the lazy.
The Loon Lake Getaway has everything you need to make your vacation relaxing and enjoyable. Every season captures it’s own beauty. Book your getaway now.
There are a few locked closets and no access to the garage. Otherwise the whole house is yours to use.

While pillows are provided, guests who require us to provide linens and bath towels/washcloths will be charged an extra fee of $100 for our linen service personnel to strip the beds and have the laundry professionally washed, folded, and transported from and to our house. This fee is payable upon arrival. If guests choose this option, please let the manager know when contacting her with your arrival time so she can have them ready for you.
NO PARTIES / EVENTS - Out of respect for our neighbors and the tranquility of the lake, we do not allow parties or large events. In the summer, quiet time after 10pm.
EXTRA GUESTS & PENALTY FOR EXTRA GUESTS - The maximum occupancy of the Loon Lake Getaway is 14. For liability reasons and out of respect for our neighbors, guests may not have visitors--adults or children, during day or night time--that lead to surpassing maximum occupancy of 14 guests without owner authorization. Violation of this house rule will be penalized by forfeiture of the security deposit.
NO SMOKING in the house or on the porches, or the damage deposit will be forfeited.
NO PETS - Sorry, no pets! If evidence of pets is found, the damage deposit will be forfeited.
NO FIREWORKS or the damage deposit will be forfeited.
USE OF THE DOCK - Do not tie up boats directly to the dock as strong storms could cause the dock to shift or come apart. Use the two boat tie-ups marked by white buoys.
QUIET HOURS - Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., during which time the noise shall not unreasonably disturb neighbors. Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area. For example, playing loud music so that the neighbors can hear it would be considered disruptive.
NO WAKE AFTER 5PM – Loon Lake has a no wake rule before 9 am and after 5 pm. This means that a boat must be going slow enough to not create a wake (waves) behind the boat during the "no wake" hours. This rule is very important to the Loon Lake community, to preserve the peace of the lake and give anglers a moment of calm. Respect of this rule is critical and violation is subject to a fine by the DNR.
CHECK OUT TIME & LATE DEPARTURE - Check out time is 10am. Late departure is subject to a penalty fee of $50 per hour, which will be retained from the security deposit. If there are no renters back to back, check-in and check-out times may be more flexible. Talk to our manager to find out more.
CLEANING FEES - If the condition of the property following the rental requires extra cleaning beyond the standard level, the Guest shall be solely responsible for the cost of such cleaning. The owners reserve the right to retain extra cleaning fees ($30/hour) from the security deposit.
SORTING TRASH AND RECYCLING - Guests must sort their trash. Recyclables are co-mingled and are to be placed in blue bags (plastic, aluminum, glass, tin, and paper can go together) in containers just inside the upstairs porch sliding door or under the desk in the downstairs laundry room. Garbage goes in clear trash bags. When the upstairs trash compactor or downstairs kitchen trash can are full, place trash bags in the black garbage bins located outside near the garage door. Recyclables may co-mingle and be place in the blue recycling bins outside near the garage door. The owners reserve the right to retain extra cleaning fees ($30/hour) from the security deposit in the event of excessive unsorted trash.
TENTS - No tents allowed on the property.
CAMPERS - No campers of any kind are allowed on the property, be it mobile home or trailered.
FIRE PIT & FIREWOOD - Guests may use the fire pit but must replace any firewood used from the pile. Firewood can be bought along the side of the road on Lake Drive or in Shawano. No bottles, cans, or plastics in fire pit please.
FISH CLEANING - Fish cleaning is to be done on the round picnic table along the creek. The pump house has an outlet for electric scalers and fillet knives. Please rinse the fish thoroughly in the creek or lake before bringing them in the house as fish scales will clog the sinks. If evidence of fish cleaning in the house is found, the damage deposit may be forfeited.
WINDOWS AND DOORS - Always remember to close the windows on the upstairs and downstairs porches if rain is coming or you are leaving the house for a while. Wisconsin weather is unpredictable and the rain is damaging to the porch furniture and carpets.

David, Julie, Jeannie and Bonnie are the owners of the Loon Lake House. We are four siblings who grew up on Loon Lake in this spacious redwood home, the first of its kind on the lake when our parents built it back in 1979. Our adult lives have scattered us (Green Bay, Washington DC, Steamboat Springs and Bordeaux, France), but we meet up with our families each summer, to reconnect with each other and this amazing home that has been in our family for 100 years.
