Другие важные подробности
This wonderful, historic Victorian building was built in the late 1890’s. It was originally the town’s General Store with the owner’s living quarters above. An addition was added in the back of the building to house the owner’s horses. Over time, the upstairs of the building was converted into two quaint apartments.
Intending to only stay for a year or two after college to be ski bums, Ric and Jean Taylor moved to Breckenridge in 1969. After renting one of the apartments they decided to buy the property in 1971. The young couple transformed the General Store into The Wildflower Gift shop, selling everything from fine jewelry, to pottery, to antiques and even clothing. The year or two stay for the young couple turned into a life commitment. They made their home here in Breckenridge where they raised their two daughters.
Some forty years later, they have done a complete remodel turning the two small apartments into one beautiful luxury rental. This massive renovation started from the outer studs of the building reinforcing the foundation, subfloor, electrical system and plumbing. The interior of the building has been completely transformed using beautiful granites, natural stones in each of the baths and in the thoroughly modern, well-equipped kitchen. Much of the wood from the original structure has been re-claimed and used throughout the loft. The original windows were re-vitalized and refinished to save the beautiful old wood and the rope/pulley mechanisms that were originally installed. Being in the heart of the historic district, much consideration was given to preserving the original building.
