Tall Clover Farm welcomes you with warmth and unassuming charm in a rustic, light-filled cabin. Originally a bathhouse, the cabin now embodies all you need to sit back, slow down and enjoy the rural sounds and sights of Vashon, and it's centrally located near Vashon town, the Vashon Arts Center, and popular KVI beach. I originally called the cabin "Little Dorrit" but have since changed its name to "Little Gemma" in memory and celebration of the dear friend and lovely soul who inspired it.
I've created a space that I would want to stay in, that offers a quiet retreat with an eye for detail, and an appreciation of vintage furnishings and fixtures.
The main cabin shares the deck with the bathhouse, which has a clawfoot tub, pedestal sink, and compost toilet. As compost toilets go this one is a modern one, where you simply sit and go.
Little Gemma sits in private glade on the property, not far from where guests park. The walk to the cabin is brief walk down a small swale where she sits unpretentiously. There are two low steps to enter the cabin. Guests are welcome to enjoy the property, and explore. Please just respect the plants and animals, and return all gates and deer fences to the closed position. Please don't pick any fruit or flowers.

Somethings to consider:
1. My very friendly dog, Buddy, may wish to visit from time to time.
2. My rooster Kazimir crows and is unfamiliar with sleeping in.
3. The toilet is a modern, sanitary composting toilet.
4. The bathroom and shower/tub are in a separate building connected by a wood deck.
5. Little Gemma is known for her low-entry front door. Don't forget to duck if you're a tall drink of water.
- Kindly treat the cabin as if it were yours.
I live in an 1888 farmhouse on a few acres, enjoying countless projects, farm duties, and a bent to grow good food and fine flowers. I embrace the beauty of the bulldog, succumb to the power of pie, worship the peach, contend summer is never long enough and reward my hard work with a nap in the hammock. Join me, and my English bulldog Buddy as our guest in a private cabin on Vashon Island, a sweet spot moored in the middle of Puget Sound, home to the quirky, the kind, and the unabashedly laid back. A stunning ferry ride from West Seattle or Tacoma, Vashon Island is just inconvenient enough to deter the impatient and cultivate the eccentric.
